The Outreach Case Manager plays a vital role in supporting clients at YW Calgary’s Crisis Shelter and those referred through the Equally Safe Domestic Conflict Response Team (DCRT/ESRT), a partnership with Calgary Police Services and community agencies. This position involves providing comprehensive case management to families affected by domestic violence throughout Calgary, working alongside a multi-disciplinary team.

**This position is a one (1) year full-time contract working Mon-Friday from 8:30 am
- 4:30 pm, 37.5 hours per week with a variable schedule to best serve clients and program requirements. This role requires significant travel within the city of Calgary to meet clients in various community settings**

**WHAT YOU'LL DO**:

- Ensure clients feel safe, supported, and connected to community resources.
- Aim for 70% of clients to develop safety plans, improve emotional regulation, and enhance independent living skills.
- Conduct program assessments and case planning.
- Assess needs related to justice system navigation and assist with safety planning.
- Collaborate with justice system partners to reduce barriers and streamline access.
- Make referrals and advocate for clients to justice partners and local organizations.
- Provide culturally appropriate support to mitigate trauma and prevent re-victimization.
- Accompany clients to legal appointments for guidance and emotional support.
- Utilize trauma-informed care, feminist, and anti-oppressive practices.
- Assist families in developing safety and impulsivity management plans.
- Coach family members on self-regulation and provide information on healthy relationships.
- Refer clients to internal and external programs for long-term support.
- Maintain professional boundaries and effective communication with clients and partners.
- Collaborate with child welfare, justice, education, and community agencies.
- Complete necessary assessments and maintain accurate case notes.
- Ensure accurate documentation meets program, organizational, and funder requirements.
- Practice sound record-keeping and timely data entry.
- Maintain records according to organizational standards and policies.
- Keep accurate monthly statistics and close client files appropriately.
- Complete electronic reporting as required.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and training.
- Participate in staff meetings and organizational activities.
- Stay updated on evidence-based practices related to domestic violence and mental health.
- Promote a culture of inclusion and equity within the workplace.
- Integrate diversity principles into daily work and interactions.
- Create and maintain safe and inclusive environments.
- Adhere to health, safety, and wellness policies and protocols.
- Report hazards or unsafe practices immediately.
- Utilize safety materials and equipment appropriately.
- Contribute to a physically and psychologically safe workplace.

**WHAT YOU'LL BRING**:

- A clear Police Information Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Search, and an Intervention Record Check is required upon commencement of employment
- Bachelor of social work, Psychology, Criminology or related in human services field
- At least (3) years’ experience working in the field of family violence (including child abuse)
- Minimum of (2) years’ experience working in an outreach and/or case management capacity
- Strong knowledge of local legal resources and supports
- Experience and expertise working with women, children, and men who have experienced child abuse and family violence
- Strong understanding of brain development and healthy mental function.
- Understanding of relevant legislation and regulations.
- Knowledge of community resources and referral processes
- Strong computer literacy including MS Office Suite, able to learn additional software quickly and effectively Commitment to feminist, anti-oppressive, and trauma-sensitive principles and values
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification and ASSIST certification
