**MORTGAGE AND LOAN ADMINISTRATOR- Covering a Maternity Leave, with a possibility of extension**

**About the Role**:
We are looking for a Mortgage and Loan Administrator who has a desire and the ability to provide an exceptional and consistently positive experience for members, applicants, and co-workers. This
role provides an excellent opportunity to expand your experience in your retail lending career. This position is part of the OPPACU phone queue daily and consistently delivers a superb member-centric experience each time they speak to or meet with a member. This position has responsibilities to ensure the timely and accurate completion of all assigned clearing and administrative duties.

**Strong Assets**:

- Knowledge of retail lending products and documentation requirements
- Credit union or chartered bank work experience
- Loan Origination System experience and/ or RFS banking system

**Job Function**:
**Key Responsibility Areas**:
A. Mortgage and Loan Administration
- Reviews conditions and details in documentation to ensure proper information and rates have been applied
- Prepares and posts internal entries for funding and oversees posting of mortgages and loans
- Liaises with lawyers and prepares instructions and documents for appraisal; follows up as required
- Prepares and processes discharge statements
- Prepare and process all appropriate documents associated with loan approvals including insurance and cheque disbursements.
- Prepares loan maturing reports and processes renewal letters to members
- Provides and reviews documentation for First Canadian Title and assists in the monthly reconciliation of invoice
- Follows up on pending mortgages files to ensure solicitor and outstanding items have been received
- Supports Financial Advisors with requests for changes, appraisals, and file information, as well as support with details and documentation
- Maintain daily tracking systems for expiry and renewal dates of insurance, mortgages, loan registry and loan related licenses; maintain filing systems of loan materials and records.
- Process loan payments, calculate mortgage and loan payments and update automated

payments.
- Communicate with members to help them with lending requests and questions.
- Follow credit union operating procedures, lending policies and procedures carefully and promptly report any unusual occurrences or fraudulent activity.

B. Other
- Will assist/ contribute to deposit Administration including GICs, term deposits, RRSPs, TFSAs, RRIFS etc
- Adheres to security procedures as they pertain to the position
- Actively participates in department and credit union meetings
- Other duties as assigned.

C. Future Opportunity
- Back up other positions; critical roles with the possibility of future absence relief

**Qualifications**
- Education and experience preferred: _

3-4 years of lending experience in financial institution branch setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Lending experience is an asset. A commitment to learning and development is required.
- Core role competencies:_
- Solid knowledge of retail lending and mortgage administration processes
- Knowledge of retail deposit products and administration are an asset ( i.e.RRSP, TFSA, RRIF, GIC)
- Solid computer skills
- Demonstrated aptitude for detail-oriented work
- Solid communication skills
- Ability to adhere to professional, regulatory and industry standards
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and interdependently with other roles to ensure member needs are delivered in a seamless manner
