**Reports To**: Refugee Sponsorship and Resettlement Program (RSRP) Manager

**Status**: 18-20 hours per week, non-exempt

**Salary Level**: $26-27 CAD hourly

**PURPOSE**

Based in Burlington (or remotely if necessary), the responsibilities of this position are twofold:
1) The creation of sponsorship budgets and financial guidance for sponsorship groups who are sponsoring through World Renew's Refugee Sponsorship and Resettlement Program (RSRP) to ensure sponsors are adequately prepared to meet the pre
- and post-arrival finance requirements of World Renew's RSRP and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

2) Settlement monitoring with sponsorship groups and newcomers after sponsored refugees have arrived in Canada. The purpose of these regular check-ins (which will be done primarily by video call) is to ensure healthy support for newcomers and adherence to financial and non-financial requirements of World Renew's RSRP and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- **Budget Development and Financial Guidance**
- Review and update World Renew's finance resource documents, at minimum annually, to ensure consistency and compliance with government guidelines/ requirements and World Renew's Sponsorship Agreement with IRCC.
- Provide guidance to sponsors on the finance requirements of World Renew's RSRP and IRCC.
- Post-arrival, follow-up with sponsors to ensure sponsorship budgets are accurate, including if there are any required sponsorship budget changes (i.e. newcomers begin working, change in family composition, etc.).
- Post-arrival, work with sponsorship groups to understand and complete Start-Up Tracker tool to ensure appropriate start-up (in-kind and monetary) support is provided.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- **Settlement Monitoring**:

- Schedule settlement monitoring interviews with sponsors and newcomers at intervals in the sponsorship year as specified by the RSRP.
- Review case file documents (i.e. sponsorship budget, Start-Up Tracker, settlement plan, Sponsorship Information Form (SIF)) to prepare for each settlement monitoring interview.
- Interview (virtual or in-person) sponsors and newcomers and complete monitoring questionnaires.
- Following the settlement monitoring interviews, communicate with sponsors to ensure all necessary follow up is complete.
- Via these interviews and the necessary follow-up, equip sponsorship groups in the healthy settlement and empowerment of the newcomers they are sponsoring.
- Maintain accurate documentation of monitoring activities and results.
- Refer complex follow-up matters to RSRP Manager.
- Compile and analyze results gathered from questionnaires in reports to be shared with various constituencies.
- Participate in meeting and training opportunities (i.e. RSRP team meetings, World Renew staff meetings, SAH Association meetings, SAH Navigation Unit webinars, Refugee Sponsorship Training Program (RSTP) trainings, etc.).
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Demonstrated written and verbal English communication skills. Verbal communication skills in Arabic, Farsi, Tigrinya, or other languages is an asset.
- Experience in refugee resettlement and Canada's Private Sponsorship of Refugees program.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively, creatively and with sensitivity with outside partners, especially sponsorship groups with a diversity of background and sponsorship experience.
- Demonstrated budgeting and financial management experience with ability to explain budgets and financial management to sponsoring groups.
- Cooperative demeanour; flexible and adaptable team player.
- Disciplined, self-motivated work style with strong ability to work independently.
- Well-developed organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to prioritize when faced with multiple tasks.
- Respect for and discretion in dealing with confidential material.
- A working knowledge of the CRCNA and particularly of World Renew is an asset.
- Legal ability to work in Canada.
