**About the role**:
In addition, the incumbent will support the design and implementation of a best-in-class process to centralize and integrate the data collection function across Corporate Finance teams, using existing tools (SAP, Longview, Workiva etc.) and automated workflow capabilities to achieve that outcome.

**What will you do?**
- Lead the preparation and review of the quarterly and annual OSFI LIFE-1 and LF4 returns, including all applicable schedules, as well as various statutory quarterly and annual filings with other regulatory and institutional bodies, including provincial and foreign regulatory bodies, CLHIA, Statistics Canada, etc., partnering with local finance and reporting teams across various Sun Life business groups and functional areas globally to achieve that outcome
- Maintain strong and effective working relationships with regulatory bodies and industry associations, serving as a key liaison to represent Sun Life’s interests in those organizations. Ensure accurate and timely payment of the federal and provincial assessment and license renewal fees in accordance with the related regulations and internal processes
- Review ongoing changes to federal, provincial, foreign and other regulatory and compliance reporting requirements along with changes in IFRS and Sun Life’s accounting policies to assess any impacts to regulatory reporting
- Contribute to strategic ad-hoc projects across Corporate Finance
- Identify and execute process improvement initiatives in collaboration with cross-team stakeholders to drive operational efficiencies, building upon a cultural of continuous improvement
- Participate in the accounting for complex transactions and understand associated implications on regulatory reporting
- Actively coach and develop junior staff (team of 2-3 staff)

**What do you need to succeed?**
- 4+ years of Finance or Accounting experience in either public accounting or large, multinational organizations, preferably in the insurance industry
- 2+ years of experience with reporting
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
- Accounting designation CPA, CA, CMA or CGA or equivalent
- Proficiency in Excel, experience with Look ups and Pivot tables.

**Preferred skills**:

- Experience with SAP S/4HANA (including Fiori and Analysis for Office) is an advantage
- Experience with Longview, Tableau or Workiva wDesk is an advantage
- Experience managing projects end to end
- Proficiency in Excel, experience with VBA and Macros
