**The Opportunity**
You would be an integral part of our People & Culture (P&C) team, delivering on our promise of excellence by supporting employees and managers. You would be responsible for the quality delivery of programs and initiatives in the areas of recruitment, onboarding, policy, learning and development, performance management, employee relations, and engagement. With a progressive and process improvement mindset, you are able to think critically and are resourceful in your ability to find solutions.
**You will**
- Support the efficient day to day execution of People & Culture programs and processes, such as recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, performance management, learning and development, training, EDI, employee engagement and retention, etc.
- Provide advice and support to managers in disciplinary issues, protected leaves, policy interpretation, accommodations, complaint resolution, and process on changes such as role changes, restructures, etc.
- Facilitate training to staff and managers, create training materials, and contribute to cultivating a culture of learning and development
- Gather and analyze employee and pulse survey feedback and results and aid in employee engagement initiatives
- Create, modify, and enhance HR documentation, such as forms and policies, and own the communication and implementation
- Monitor training certifications and ensure they are up to date and current on an annual basis for all employees
- Manage and monitor performance-related issues and work with managers on Performance Improvement Plans, coaching, or other solutions
- Monitor provincial legislation and ensure changes are communicated appropriately and implemented effectively
- Work with the Director, People & Culture in projects related to recruitment, onboarding, performance management, learning and development, training, EDI, employee engagement and retention, etc.
- Provide support in the maintenance of electronic employee files and HRIS management
- Work with the COO and Department heads to ensure legislative compliance to Occupational Health & Safety
**You possess**
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management
- Proven experience effectively executing on People and Culture/HR programs and initiatives
- Strong documentation creation, formatting, and writing abilities
- Experience having conducted workplace mediations and investigations considered an asset
- Prior experience in non-profit or medium to large organizations with a mix of full-time, part-time, seasonal, and casual employees an asset
- Significant knowledge of provincial employment legislation and ability to interpret and train managers
- Tech savvy, with previous experience with Payworks or other HRIS/ATS systems, emphasis on experience administrating systems
- Strong ability to actively listen and communicate with empathy
- Highly technically proficient, curious, and experienced in how technology can improve process
- Demonstrated ability to critically think, problem solve, and implement resolution
- High level of diplomacy, demonstrated ability to handle sensitive situations, and make sound decisions
