**About the Role**

**What You'll Do**
- Qualify and underwrite new and renewal Insurance accounts through understanding the needs and risk characteristics of the customer while ensuring both top-line growth and bottom-line profitability
- Managing a portfolio of small to medium sized business in the Property & Casualty space primarily consisting of residential realty, commercial realty, contractors and hospitality.
- Analyze risks to identify fair and sensible solutions that fit within the program guidelines
- Submit claim documentation to our Third Party Administrator
- Utilize, manage and maintain the Lloyds Lineage system for reporting and settlement of our Coverholder authority
- Manage the underwriting workflow from quote to policy issuance
- Assist in the renewal process for our Coverholder agreements

**What You Bring**
- Typically, more than 1-5 years of professional underwriting experience within the insurance industry
- Knowledge of Lloyd's underwriting practices is an asset
- Proven success in providing a high level of customer service in a fast-paced and challenging environment
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to analyze and convey summaries of complex issues; recognize alternative approaches and develop action plans, both orally and in written form
- Remarkable collaboration, negotiation and influencing skills
- Ability to develop and maintain long-term relationships with brokers, clients and internal partners
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word, Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and sensible judgement
- Exceptional problem-solving, decision making and analytical skills
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Professional designation such as CIP is an asset
- Experience in Lineage would be an asset
