**About the Role**
- Calgary Academy is looking for a Research Assistant to provide research support for the Alberta Education “Mental Health in Schools” pilot project at Calgary Academy. The role is accountable to ensure efficiency and support in the school-wide wellness research endeavors, which are in the initial phases of implementation.

This is a Term Contract position from August 24, 2023 - August 21, 2025, working 7.5 hours/week with an annual salary of $20,000, with no benefits provided. This position does not adhere to the school calendar and will be required for occasional onsite participation between the hours of 8AM to 4PM, Monday - Friday as well as will offer opportunities for off-site meetings and hybrid work. The Research Assistant reports to the Director of Research & Innovation.

**Salary Range**
- This position will be paid $20,000/year.

**Highlights of Key Responsibilities**
- Support the Government of Alberta Mental Health in Schools pilot research project at Calgary Academy as a key part of the wellness grant team.
- Responsible for making recommendations on data collected process for the pilot including identifying, collecting, interpreting, and analyzing data.
- Contribute to the writing and preparation of research reports, publications, and presentations.
- Advise on effectiveness of wellness initiatives including MindUp and Open Parachute, and make recommendations based on findings to ensure program fidelity and success.
- Participate in sharing and disseminating research findings in Calgary Academy and externally.
- Adhere to research ethics and protocols as per Calgary Academy’s Board of Ethics.
- Develop and maintain a high regard for the importance and dignity of the work.
- Collaborate and participate in the Wellness Taskforce at Calgary Academy.
- Active support wellness initiatives in the school community.
- Support the development of free micromodules on Social Emotional Learning with the wellness grant team.
- Liaise with community to foster relationships and leverage community programs.

**Qualifications**
- Master’s level or doctoral student.
- Experience with qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis.
- Experience with or an interest in social-emotional wellness and mental wellbeing of staff and students.
- Interest in working in a K-12 educational setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate an understanding for discretion in the use of confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Demonstrate attention to detail, organization and high work standards.
