**Survey Manager/Draftsman**

Prairie North Const. Ltd. has an immediate opportunity available for a highly skilled **Survey**
**Manager/Draftsman**. This is an Acheson based role with occasional travel to job sites as required.

**Key Accountabilities**

**CAD**
- Fluent in typical Civil 3D functions as well as knowledge of utilizing corridors (roads, rail, etc.), subassembly creation, grading, and handling large data sets
- Coordinate and complete drafting assignments with project managers and engineers from initial project stage to project completion
- Efficiently work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, prepare design models, drawing packages and check design parameters of other team members
- Follows group practices and prescribed project standards with the understanding of shared work on multiple projects
- Take direction from other Senior Technologists, Engineers and Project Managers
- Civil 3D quantities tracking including surface grading, roadways and associated details
- Integrating site surveys to make design adjustments and produce drawings for turnover documents

**Surveying**
- Manage a team of surveyors
- Reviewing and approving daily LEMS (timesheets)
- Oversee Quantity Pick-up in the field
- Record and maintain daily field notes of survey activities
- Perform various aspects of industrial & civil survey tasks accurately and efficiently
- Experience with GPS Machine Control
- Troubleshoot and maintain survey equipment & vehicles
- Troubleshoot survey layout and machine control data onsite; ensure data is correct and updated.
- Troubleshoot and repair all survey equipment.
- Effectively communicate with the Client, Drafters and PMs/Supervisors
- Mentor Survey Assistants/Junior Surveyors
- Facilitate and maintain strong positive client relations

**Minimum Qualification, Experience & Skills**
- Completed Civil Engineering/Geomatics Diploma
- 5+ years in construction survey drafting
- Creative and resourceful
- Critical problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of TBC (Trimble Business Center)
- Programming knowledge is an asset

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Acheson, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
