**Working for the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine**

The Rehabilitation Robotics Lab (RRL) in the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine is dedicated to improving quality of life through advanced robotics and technology. Our research spans wheelchair biomechanics, spinal structure assessment, assistive robotics, telerehabilitation, and virtual reality in rehabilitation medicine. We emphasize the use of simulation and extended reality (XR) technologies to study human biomechanics. In partnership with the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry and the SMART Network, RRL boasts state-of-the-art equipment including motion capture systems, immersive VR, and a six-degrees-of-freedom robotic platform for back pain research. The lab serves as a collaborative hub for researchers and trainees from various disciplines.

**Duties**

Communication
- Serves as the first point of contact for the research projects they manage

Document/Materials Development
- Creates and maintains documentation of research protocols and activities, including Participant Information and Consent forms, formal protocol documents, honoraria payment tracking forms, etc.

Project/Academic Activities
- Conducts research activities for their project(s), including consent process for human participants, guiding participants through the study protocol (guaranteeing participant safety), ensuring accurate data collection, safe data storage processes, accurate distribution of participant honoraria (if applicable), and concise record keeping;
- Gathers information for and prepares reporting information required by funding bodies in a timely manner;
- ensures Lab & Project Coordinator and Principal Investigator are aware of reporting deadlines and provides them with all relevant information in advance;
- Monitors project spending to ensure projects remain within budget;
- Communicates budgetary information to Lab & Project Coordinator and to Principal Investigator regularly.

**Minimum Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of research experience in an academic space
- Excellent organizational, time management, and critical thinking skills; strong attention to detail required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills including strong ability to demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, and diplomacy
- Excellent spelling, grammar, editing, and proofreading skills
- Knowledge of healthcare industry and terminology an asset
- High tolerance for ambiguity; adaptable to a changing environment
- Demonstrated understanding of the importance of creating equitable, diverse, and inclusive practices
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Able to perform searches on databases, websites, etc. to support project activities; experience with literature reviews
- Adaptable, agile and technologically savvy; advanced capability with MS Office suite, Google Applications and PeopleSoft systems, data management software (REDCap)
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing competing priorities
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize work effectively
