**The Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Assistant is responsible for providing support to multiple functional areas within the accounting team, including core accounting, payroll, and accounts payable.

**The Job**:

- Support the Accountant with month-end and quarter-end reports and preparation of schedules and journal entries
- Assist with entering payroll information and preparing related reports, and serve as a backup for the Global Payroll Specialist as required
- Responsible for month end activities for the accounts payable function including compiling, posting and reversing monthly accrual entries, and creating the accounts payable and accrued liabilities listings
- Support accounts payable with entering purchase requisitions and preparing payment runs on bi-weekly basis
- Assist with the preparation of monthly & quarterly financials by providing schedules in accordance with the Financial Statement Close Process and timeline
- Assist Tax Manager with compiling and completing HST returns
- Support the Controller with the consolidated audit and special projects as required
- Provide ad-hoc financial reports upon request

**What skills you bring**:

- Completed college diploma with a focus in Business, Accounting or Finance
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office
- Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Experience with SAP is a plus but not required
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and prioritize deadlines on an ongoing basis
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Great teammate
