The health services team has exciting opportunities for Coordinators within the Immunization records team. If you are a result-driven professional who can exercise a high degree of customer service including conflict resolution in liaising with internal and external contacts, including parents, school and childcare administrators and health care providers, nurses, health analyst, Peel Health contact centre and other administrative support staff within and outside the division, then consider this position within our team.

**What you will do in this role**:

- Working with the provincial Panorama immunization database, you will be collecting, recording, assessing, reviewing and managing immunization records for students in schools and in licensed childcare centers within the Region of Peel to ensure age-appropriate immunization is administered. Panorama functionality includes the Student Information Exchange (STIX) and the Public Health Information Exchange (PHIX) features
- Customer service including conflict resolution on the telephone and in person
- Communicate and enforce immunization requirements as specified in the Immunization of School Pupils Act and Child Care and Early Years Act to parents, school staff, childcare facility staff, physicians and internal staff in compliance with the Personal Health Information and Protection Act and other related policies and procedures
- Complete individual tasks and assist in conducting research based on the School Pupils Act and Day Nurseries Act and notify students/parents/guardians/childcare providers with incomplete records and enforcing the immunization of school Pupil’s Act and the Day Nurseries Act for those who do not comply with notification
- Respond to requests for exemptions, translations, immunization records and information about the immunization records review process
- Gather and maintain statistics using Excel, EIM and Access programs, preparing forms and documents and correspondence after investigating immunization records using MS Word
- Records management includes the control of paper flow and electronic information within Peel Public Health, mail processes, filing and storage of records
- Responsible for the collection, data entry and record management of personal health information for approximately 250,000 students registered to schools and licensed day cares in the Region of Peel for the purpose of meeting legislated immunization requirements
- Collect, review and interpret immunization information received from parents/legal guardians, students, schools, physicians and other health care providers
- Utilizing written and verbal translation services to facilitate interactions between client and staff for the purpose of updating immunization records
- Receive, record, disclose and file all immunization record information in compliance with the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA)

**What the role requires**:

- High school diploma with post secondary education in a related field such as business administration, medical office administration and database management
- Minimum of one year experience working with medical records, medical databases or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered
- Experience with Ministry Database databases, Panorama and/or the Immunization Records Teams is an asset

**Skills/Abilities**:

- Strong, accurate data entry and keyboarding skills
- Intermediate proficiency in MS office (Word, Excel, Access)
- Demonstrated expertise in customer service
