**Job Title: Payroll Specialist**

**Reports To: Controller**

**Objectives of the Position**

The Payroll Coordinator will be responsible for the complete and accurate processing of payroll for employee/agency staff using ADP WFN by the specified deadlines and within legislative guidelines. The position will require communicating with the necessary departments to ensure all information is correctly entered, and the system utilized correctly.

**Principle Accountabilities**
- Responsible for the preparation and processing of biweekly and semimonthly payroll for all employees of Rhenus Canada companies
- Review and coordinate new hire setup, terminations and changes with Human Resources department Review employee timecards, for accuracy and completeness, in ADP WFN
- Manage communications with employees/managers on timesheet approvals and schedules
- Manage all hourly schedules within WFN and ensure all employees are assigned a schedule
- Responsible for retrieving and saving all payroll related reports
- Data entry into spreadsheets and the payroll system
- Reconcile ADP WFN payroll reports to general ledger; reconcile payroll clearing general ledger account every month
- Reconcile ADP WFN benefits with both benefit provider invoices and general ledger every month ensuring all charges are deducted and/or paid
- Review entries and balance payroll before sending file to ADP
- Process ROEs and year end tax forms
- Register new employees on the Online Pay Slip site
- Deliver instruction/training to employees regarding the use of payroll-related systems including entry of timesheets, hours approval, time off requests, online access of pay statements, etc.
- Assist in preparation of annual T4 returns and other annual reports including year end payroll reconciliation
- Prepare and file WISB and other workplace safety returns
- Prepare salary reconciliation reports as necessary
- Prepare T2200 forms for employees as necessary

**Skills & Education & Work Experience / Requirements**
- Knowledge of Canadian payroll
- Knowledge of provincial employment standards acts, Canada Revenue Agency, WSIB and other pertinent legislation
- Understanding of privacy and confidentiality principles, policies, and legislation
- Experience using ADP WFN
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Detail oriented
- Experience with conflict and issue resolution; preferably of a pay-related nature
