A Day in the life:
The Environmental Field Technician position is responsible for assisting with emissions testing programs throughout Alberta and Western Canada.

The following list of duties are the responsibility of the Environmental Field Technician:

- Prepare and pack for field sampling programs.
- Calibrate, clean and maintain emissions sampling equipment in accordance with standard procedures.
- Prepare and operate sampling equipment, and recover emissions test samples.
- Enter field and analytical data into Microsoft Excel worksheets
- Maintain organization of storage and lab areas.
- Participate in field-level and general safety assessments.
- Driving to and from work sites, including hauling and parking equipment trailers

Education Requirements:

- Possesses an Environmental or Chemical degree/diploma. Other diplomas and degrees will be considered. Individuals with no post secondary will also be considered.

Years of Experience:

- 1+ years in the Oil & Gas industry experience is preferred

Additional Qualifications:

- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Physical attributes for heavy lifting and carrying of equipment
- Mechanically inclined and field oriented

Licensures/Training Requirements:

- Valid Class G Driver’s License is required with a clean abstract
- First Aid, CPR, H2S Alive, TDG, WHIMS are considered an asset

Safety/Drug Screening:

- Capability to pass background checks and initial and random drug screening
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders and work from heights

Travel:

- Ability/willingness to travel across all provinces as well as the US up to 50%.

- Excellent organizational, communication and time management skills
- Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel/management
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Attention to detail
- Able to work independently, managing multiple responsibilities (i.e., self-starter, self-motivated)
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to think and act strategically and proactively
- Resourcefulness, flexibility, and resiliency to operate in a dynamic work environment
- Mechanically inclined and field oriented Ability to work in hot/cold ambient conditions
- High degree of Initiative and good positive attitude
- Able to work effectively in team environment
- Comfortable climbing and working at heights

- While performing the duties of this job, this position may require the individual to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
- Standby and on-call duty may be required, and the individual must be able to respond to the facility within one hour
- Some shifts will require working alone
- Must have the ability to lift 20-30 pounds using Company provided equipment
