Community Outreach Coordinator
Working at the District School Board of Niagara (DSBN) means being part of a supportive, innovative community that works towards doing what is best for students, and helping every individual achieve success. We proudly serve over 40,000 students across almost 100 elementary and secondary schools in Niagara, located between Lake Erie in the South and Lake Ontario to the North.
The Community Outreach Coordinator reporting to the Sr. Manager, Continuing Education and Community Partnerships will be responsible for coordinating and supporting activities and operation of the Community Partnership Services department and Community Use of Schools (CUOS). The Outreach Coordinator will help ensure the effectiveness of CUOS and community partnerships by providing daily guidance to Community Use of Schools staff while also coordinating and implementing responsive service solutions for third-party permits/rentals, leases, license agreements, childcare services, EarlyON centres, and community partners.
Experience collaborating with local community, not-for-profit, childcare, and/or service organizations.
Ability to prioritize and successfully complete projects with conflicting deadlines.
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to foster relationships, problem solving and issue resolution skills with internal and external partners.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Coordinate initiatives and daily activities that support the smooth operation of Community Use of Schools
Oversee daily operations of Community Use of Schools, deliver, and manage services by coordinating activities and working with schools, community groups, other school boards, Ministry officials, community agencies, school administrators and staff from other departments across the Board.
Investigate reported issues and proactively seek solutions for areas of concern; coordinate with department staff, schools, staff from other departments, and community partners to investigate and collaboratively seek and implement solutions for issues and concerns.
Support day to day implementation and maintenance of community partnership relationships, including preparation and tracking of agreements with childcare providers and other community partners and regular communication with facility partners.
Support information management and coordinate the timely and accurate collection of CUOS program data including data as requested by department manager and the Ministry of Education.
Working with internal departments and committees for the successful implementation of CUOS and community partnership initiatives.
Participating in provincial discussions with other Community Outreach Coordinators.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills, Qualifications and Education Requirements
Minimum of a 2-year Community College Diploma in a related area.
Minimum of five (5) years’ work experience in a school board setting in a self-directed, fast-paced, dynamic, customer service focused role.
Demonstrated ability to investigate issues, coordinate services and implement solutions.
Strong research, analytical, problem-solving, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
Experience managing dynamic booking schedules for multiple sites and extensive knowledge of booking management software (eBase).
Proven experience building collaborative working relationships and providing exemplary service to a diverse group of stakeholders.
**Salary range**: $60,802- $71,104 annually. Includes a comprehensive benefit plan. This is a full time, 12-month, 35 hour per week position and is part of the Board’s union-exempt Administrative Management Group.
