The position is accountable for successfully managing turned over definite business from our conference, event and or citywide conference segments. Conference Services Managers ensure that all contracted and turned over business will be professionally event managed while adhering to contracted terms and conditions and delivering an excellent guest experience. Assist in all day-to-day activities related to event management with a focus on building long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of Hotel’s Sales and Event objectives. Diligent and enthusiastic in the pursuit of personal and team goals as defined by senior leadership.

**CANDIDATE PROFILE**

**Education and Experience**
- Minimum two years' experience in banquets / catering capacity within a conference hotel
- Minimum one year of experience in Hotel Event Management.
- Experience with Opera Cloud Sales & Catering (an asset).
- Post-Secondary Education in hotel, banquet / catering management an asset.
- Exceptional organizational skills and demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize within tight timelines.
- Demonstrated ability to work with maximum accuracy, efficiency and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, Social Tables and Opera Property Management System an asset.
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to meet the business needs of a 24/7 hotel environment, including weekends, evenings, holidays and hours worked.

**CORE WORK ACTIVITIES**

**Building Successful Relationships with Hotel Clients and Suppliers**
- Builds and strengthens relationships with customers to enable future bookings.
- Participate in site visits with Sales Team when requested.
- Attend social and networking client events hosted by the hotel onsite or offsite.
- Ability to maintain good working relations with vendors, and solid knowledge of event space policies, codes, and regulations.

**Core Event Manager Activities**
- Accurately and in a timely manner deliver on the contract terms and clients vision of conference, event and or citywide conference.
- Create Banquet Event Orders, Group Resumes, attend Precons, Site Visits and Client Meetings leading up to and during conference, event and or citywide conference.
- Post Event follow up to determine successes and challenges during the clients event.

With 35,000 square feet of event space and 442 guestrooms, the hotel is a fixture in the local convention, meeting and social event circles of Vancouver and we are looking for a vibrant and enthusiastic person to join the sales team to continue our growth in this segment of the business.
