**Overview**:
The Cadet Training Facilitator is responsible for the coordination, implementation, and administration delivery of the RCMP Field Coaching Program (FCP). The incumbent monitors and assesses progress and performance of coaches, cadets/recruits enrolled in the program. The FCC provides information, guidance, and feedback to staff and liaises with the Pacific Region Training Centre (PRTC) in relation to the work.
**Examples of key responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:
- Provides information, feedback and guidance on training programs and requirements.
- Ensures recruits have met and successfully completed training program requirements.
- Provides input on selection of coaches for training programs.
- Facilitates and coordinates orientations, panel meetings, and training sessions, including developing assessment questions in collaboration with management for panel interviews.
- Responsible for liaising with all new transfers to the detachment to facilitate a seamless transition.
- Ensures coaches have completed required training successfully before assuming the role of field coach, including ensuring roles, responsibilities, and expectations are discussed with coaches prior to cadet's arrival.
- Reviews and ensures assessments and related documentation/activities are completed and submitted as per program requirements.
- Monitors the delivery of the FCP to ensure compliance with FCP directives and training standards.
- Compiles and maintains completed project work and other resources for reference.
- Provides advice and direction on performance and non-compliance issues.
- Liaises with staff and other agencies regarding existing programs, updates, and introduction of new programs.
- Assist in preparing, updating, and supplying the detachment with training manuals appropriate to the functional duties assigned to individual sections of the department.
- Assist in ordering, issuing, and monitoring training supplies for the detachment.
- Assist with Annual Firearms Qualification (AFQ) and Occupational Skills Training (OST) loading and compliance for the Membership
- Assist with Quarterly reports on compliancy rates for AFQ & OST to Division
- Assist with quality assurance reviews.
- Assist with any other training related items, as required.
**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**:
- Sound knowledge of the rules, regulations, policies and procedures governing the work performed, including a good understanding of the RCMP Field Coaching Program.
- Ability to coordinate and effectively implement a range of training principles, techniques and adult learning styles that support the administration and delivery of both the Field coaching program and training courses.
- Ability to plan and coordinate training programs and workshops according to policies, standards and procedures in a timely manner.
- Ability to act with sound independent judgment and take action within established policies and procedures.
- Ability to interact with others diplomatically and demonstrate effective interpersonal skills when communicating with trainees, supervisors and coaches.
- Demonstrated effective communication skills, both orally and in writing as required to guide, coach, and provide regular feedback to trainees.
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to training conducted in a policing environment.
- Ability to assess the effectiveness of training programs and provide feedback to management, including providing evaluation strategies that address a full range of outcomes, skills, abilities, and attitudes.
- Ability to ensure compliance to training programs, including ability to address and resolve training program performance and non-compliance issues.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and other agencies.
- Excellent record keeping skills to properly document and assess police trainees.
- Proficient MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent knowledge of business English, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
- Knowledge of RCMP systems, police terminology and reporting structure
**Qualifications and Experience**:
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent, supplemented by up to 1 year of courses directly related to the work such as: policing techniques and policies, plus a minimum of 2 years job related experience, including experience working in a supervisory capacity.
