**What can I expect to do in this role?**: In this role, you will:

- evaluate impacts on cultural heritage resources and make recommendations on due diligence and associated conservation measures;
- provide professional and technical consultative advisory services, and training and education on land use planning principles and practices;
- liaise with and provide advice to stakeholders, including government staff, Indigenous communities, approval authorities, archaeologists and planners;
- contribute to policy development.

**How do I qualify?**:
**Land use planning expertise**:

- You have knowledge of and experience in provincial land use planning principles, practices and techniques to support cultural heritage resource conservation, protection and management.
- You can provide professional and technical consultative advisory services.

**Evaluation and analytical skills**:

- You can review complex land use planning development documents (e.g., Official Plans), identify and assess cultural heritage concerns and contentious matters, conduct research, make recommendations and determine practical solutions.

**Negotiation, problem-solving and facilitation skills**:

- You can facilitate consensus building and conflict resolution among stakeholders and partners on cultural heritage resource conservation strategies and in the development of land use planning documents.
- You can negotiate procedural agreements and promote resource conservation.

**Communication and presentation skills**:

- You can provide advisory services, develop training and educational programs, and deliver presentations and public lectures.
- You can produce technical reports and briefing materials, and provide technical input on ministry Cabinet submissions, Municipal and Heritage Master Plans, policies and government initiatives.
- You can provide testimony on behalf of the ministry at judicial/formal hearings and boards.

**Reasoning skills**:

- You can evaluate the statutory and regulatory context for a particular planning process, ministry policies, guidelines, practices and/or procedures, and cultural heritage resource data and sensitivity criteria.
