We are seeking a Scheduler to join our team.

JOB OBJECTIVES : Manage schedule to ensure timely release of work orders to the production floor to allow active management of supply and production to ensure customer requirements are met.

POSITION WITHIN THE ORGANISATION : The Scheduler/Release Analyst reports to the Purchasing Manager.

DESCRIPTION OF TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES

**Core Tasks (Key Result Areas)**
- Convert Engineering BOMs (Bill of Materials) to Work Orders to the floor supporting both production and purchasing requirements.
- Change management. Ensure that changes are communicated both internally and externally to our supply base. Expedite requirements as required.
- Proactively support the material supply planning both production and service requirements
- Support outsourcing activities as required.
- Make process improvement proposals in the context of the LEAN principles.
- Monitor Item Management inventory planning requirements and make recommendations/proactively address to improve service levels/reduce inventory.

**Tasks**
- Using Infor Visual ERP Program, ensure that orders are placed to support production requirements in a timely manner ensuring no outages to the line.
- Prepare work orders to schedule production and purchasing requirements.
- Follow up with suppliers/expedite as required
- Escalate any issues with supply to your supervisor, production team for cross functional collaboration to resolve.
- Conduct root cause analysis/corrective action for shortages to prevent recurrence.
- Provide support in reporting deviations to the Planner and to the Assembly, Service and Project Management departments. Involved in accurately communicating delivery dates and quality.
- Expedite the Engineering department concerning the timely submission of Bills of Materials.
- Submit improvement proposals to the Planner in the context of the LEAN methodology
- Ensure that all safety protocol is followed, report any issues to your management team.
- Implement practical matters, such as 'Change Management'.
- Supervise outsourcing and support and train employees to properly effect outsourcing (knowledge transfer), for example by developing working instructions.

**Responsibilities and Authorities**
Is responsible for:

- Providing reliable data concerning the outsourcing of modules and/or machines.
- Providing advice on outsourcing within the specified standard.
- Expediting the Engineering department.
- Identifying and reporting any delays on a timely basis.
- Efficiently communicating with project managers, engineering and internal departments.
- Keeping informed of the latest changes at suppliers.
- Providing support to the Purchasing department to enable it to communicate accurately and comprehensively with suppliers in the technical domain.
- Maintain technical knowledge, so that technical support is flawlessly provided to suppliers.
- Work in accordance with the LEAN methodology.
- Work in accordance with the prescribed Occupational Health and Safety (ARBO) guidelines.

**Is authorised to**:

- Provide advice concerning the outsourcing of modules.
- Following the approval of the Planner is authorised to implement changes.
- Determine outsourcing priorities.
- Prepare procedures, working instructions and checklists.
- Provide the Planner and the Supply Chain Manager with solicited and unsolicited advice with regard to the outsourcing of modules.
- Initiate improvements in the planning process and/or planning procedures in line with the organisation's and the Operations department's objectives
