**Asphalt Paving Crew Members**

Go Asphalt 2021 Ltd. is a privately owned company that has been in business for over 10 years servicing the Edmonton and surrounding areas of Central Alberta with asphalt paving solutions, pavement construction and maintenance services. We provide full paving services to commercial businesses, builders, contractors, shopping centres, institutions, construction companies, organizations, residential and municipal sectors.

As Go Asphalt 2021 Ltd. values our reputation to our cliental it is crucial that establishing a great team environment which promotes our safety culture. We are currently seeking eager and hard-working individuals for our 2023 season (Spring-Fall) paving program.

Key roles we are looking to acquire for: _Asphalt Paver/Screedman Operators, Skidsteer Operators, Rackerman and Labourers to assist our team._

**Qualifications**:

- Class 5 Driver's License
- Preferred Minimum 2 to 5 years’ experience within the road construction industry. (Training Provided)
- Knowledge of base construction methods, road construction materials, heavy equipment operation and industry requirements.
- Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Work in adverse weather conditions
- Willing to work out of town and in remote locations, as required (Alot of our work though is close to Edmonton).
- Willing to work overtime, as required including weekends (10-12 hour Day Shifts).

- Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks
- Able to work outdoors and dress for varying weather conditions

**Security and Safety**
- Clean 3 year Drivers abstract to be provided
- Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence
- CSTS-2020 Considered an asset
- Standard First Aid

**SCREED PAVING DESCRIPTION**

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Positively participate in the Company safety program and adhere to all safety requirements.
- Observe distribution of material over road surface to ensure uniform distribution.
- Turn handwheel to set angle and depth of screed.
- Use depth gauge to verify depth of specifications of compacted asphalt.
- Operate paver and control asphalt delivery and placement to mitigate mix segregation.
- Discuss and plan daily project paving procedures and goals to maximize productivity and workmanship.
- Operate other equipment and perform groundwork as required.

**Knowledge/Skills**:

- Knowledge of paving equipment and paving process.
- Knowledge of proper machine startup and shutdown.
- Knowledge/ experience with setup, operation and maintenance of paver auger feed and automatic grade control system.
- Willing to learn and take direction.
- Able to perform physical/manual labour for extended periods of time.
- Able to communicate well with co-workers.
- Must have a valid driver’s license (class 5).
- Able to work under pressure in some situations.
- Able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies.
- Able and willing to work overtime as required.
- Must be reliable.
- Must exhibit a strong work ethic.
- Must have strong regard for ethics.

**ROLLER Operator Description**

Seasonal Roller Operator Base rollers including padfoot, smooth drum and rubber-tired. Duties and Responsibilities You must have the ability to; **Operate efficiently various sizes, weights of roller compactors to compact either soil, gravel or hot and cold mix asphalt in urban and commercial settings. ** Learn proper pass procedure with trainer. **Labour at times as hand and small power compactors are used in circumstances where larger equipment can't be utilized. ** Work to our safe work practices. **Work overtime if required. ** Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies. **Must have valid driver's license.**

Capable of operating multiple pieces of equipment in a safe and appropriate manner **Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on the equipment ** Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and clean, lubricate and refill the equipment when necessary **Understand the job site and what needs to get done ** Maintaining proper awareness of ones surroundings while operating equipment **Use equipment to pack down sand/gravel/dirt by driving the equipment over a particular area until it is packed down to grade ** Communicate when the ground needs to be bui
