**Asphalt Paving Crew Members**

Go Asphalt 2021 Ltd. is a privately owned company that has been in business for over 10 years servicing the Edmonton and surrounding areas of Central Alberta with asphalt paving solutions, pavement construction and maintenance services. We provide full paving services to commercial businesses, builders, contractors, shopping centres, institutions, construction companies, organizations, residential and municipal sectors.

As Go Asphalt 2021 Ltd. values our reputation to our cliental it is crucial that establishing a great team environment which promotes our safety culture. We are currently seeking eager and hard-working individuals for our 2024 season (Spring-Fall) paving program.

Key roles we are looking to acquire for: _Skidsteer/ Roller Operators Labourers and Rakers_

**Qualifications**:

- Class 5 Driver's License
- Preferred Minimum 2 to 5 years’ experience within the road construction industry. (Training Provided)
- Knowledge of base construction methods, road construction materials, heavy equipment operation and industry requirements.
- Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Work in adverse weather conditions
- Willing to work out of town and in remote locations, as required (Alot of our work though is close to Edmonton).
- Willing to work overtime, as required including weekends (10-12 hour Day Shifts).

**Security and Safety**
- Clean 3 year Drivers abstract to be provided
- Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence
- CSTS-2020 Considered an asset
- Standard First Aid

**SCREED PAVING DESCRIPTION**

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Positively participate in the Company safety program and adhere to all safety requirements.
- Discuss and plan daily project paving procedures and goals to maximize productivity and workmanship.
- Operate other equipment and perform groundwork as required.

**Knowledge/Skills**:

- Knowledge of paving equipment and paving process.
- Knowledge of proper machine startup and shutdown.
- Willing to learn and take direction.
- Able to perform physical/manual labour for extended periods of time.
- Able to communicate well with co-workers.
- Must have a valid driver’s license (class 5).
- Able to work under pressure in some situations.
- Able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies.
- Able and willing to work overtime as required.
- Must be reliable.
- Must exhibit a strong work ethic.
- Must have strong regard for ethics.

Key Responsibilities:
Capable of operating multiple pieces of equipment in a safe and appropriate manner **Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on the equipment ** Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and clean, lubricate and refill the equipment when necessary **Understand the job site and what needs to get done ** Maintaining proper awareness of ones surroundings while operating equipment **Use equipment to pack down sand/gravel/dirt by driving the equipment over a particular area until it is packed down to grade ** Communicate when the ground needs to be built up/down to ensure grades are met **Load, unload and move construction materials around the worksite. ** Manually remove large rocks and debris turned up by graders and other heavy equipment, ensuring all revealed rocks and debris are clear before equipment makes further passes. **Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment and movement of materials. ** Assist in the installation of culverts to drain water and/or use a generator and pump to remove rain water from ditches on the construction site. **Using a rake or shovel, spread gravel and other construction materials over road surfaces, building or decreasing slopes or leveling asphalt to fine grade specifications. ** Shoveling test holes by locating markers/flags and quarantine any exposed pipes. Mark test holes with stakes, paint or ribbon. **Ensure worksite is organized and free of clutter, rubble and garbage. ** Shovel asphalt mix into areas inaccessible to paving machines, and compact mix using rakes and hand tampers
