**Job Summary**:
**Labour Relations Officer - Level 06**
Labour Relations Officer is responsible in providing support to the Labour Relations Advisor.
- Support LR Advisor by preparing and reviewing Labour Relations processes
- Research and gather information and analyze data in order to write various documents to support the HR Advisor.
- Process LR case files by researching and identifing issues such as policies, draft advice, reports, correspondence or other support documents for the HR Advisor.
- Consult and interact with colleagues and/or clients of various sections related to LR concerns/issues by identifying, clarifying and explaining requirements.
**Labour Realtions Advisor - Level 07**
- Manage and coordinate labour relations processes such as those related to grievances, harassment resolution, duty to accommodate, breaches of conduct and discipline.
- Research case law / jurisprudence and keep abreast of developments in labour relations issues and legislation in order to provide sound support and advice to clients.
- Conduct special projects and make recommendations on improvements to the labour relations program.
- Research and gather information and analyze data in order to write various documents for management to guide decision making.
- Prepare and deliver information sessions / training on the role and mandate of labour relations.
- Establish and maintain good relationships and build partnerships with clients, stakeholders and employee representatives.
**Education**:
**Labour Realtions (LR) Officer L06**
- Undergraduate degree and two (2) years of relevant experience* or
- University certificate or College diploma (2 year program) and three (3) years of relevant experience* or
- Human resources certification recognized by the Canadian Council of Human Resources Association and four (4) years of relevant experience*
**Labour Relations (LR) Advisor L07**
- Undergraduate degree and three (3) years of relevant experience required** or
- University certificate or College diploma (2 year program) and four (4) years of relevant experience** or
- Human resources certification recognized by the Canadian Council of Human Resources Association and five (5) years of relevant experience**
The educational program must be from an accredited learning institution recognized in Canada. If you completed a program outside of Canada you will be required to obtain proof of a Canadian equivalency at your expense from an accredited learning institution recognized in Canada.
**Note**: Any higher level of education (i.e., Masters, Doctorate) in a related filed of study could be recognized as experience.
**Experience**:

**LR Advisor L07**
**EX2 **Two (2) years experience in conducting research and analysis in a human resources discipline1.

**EX4** Two (2) years of experience producing a variety of written reports, such as briefing notes, reports, assessments, summaries and/or memorandums.

2The breadth and depth of sought experience involves files of various complexities, multiple issues, partners or clients, impacts or risks.

**AEX2**: Experience in providing advice and guidance to management in a unionized and non-unionized work environment.
**AEX3**: Experience in working with union representatives in order to resolve issues.
**AEX4**: Experience in mediating or influencing outcomes to workplace conflicts or disputes.
**AEX5**:Experience in delivering training or awareness sessions.
