The Regina Open Door Society (RODS) is a non-profit organization that provides settlement and integration services to refugees and immigrants in Regina. RODS is committed to meeting the needs of newcomers by offering programs and services that enable them to achieve their goals and participate fully in the larger community.

The Regina Open Door Society Inc. is seeking a qualified individual to staff for a full-time term position of RAP Case Worker until March 31, 2023. Resettlement Assistance Program (RAP) works in coordination with other IRCC funded and other community programs to provide newcomers with initial settlement support to ensure they are able to settle in the city.

Accessing RAP services will help newcomers meet their initial settlement needs and goals to assist them in better understanding life in Canada.

**Desired qualifications/education**:

- A Post-Secondary education and 2 to 3 years related work experience are position requirements.
- Additional requirements include:

- A criminal record check, clean child abuse registry record,
- A valid class 5 driver's license, and
- A clean driver abstract.
- Fluency in Dari/ Pashto or Arabic/Tigrigna Language, will be an asset

**RAP Responsibilities**:

- Deliver the RAP program according to IRCC guidelines and follow RODS policies & administrative procedures
- Contributes to overall RAP planning and implementation
- Coordinate timely and effective services including assisting with arrival (i.e. airport reception, basic life skills, transportation)
- Conduct needs assessments and referrals that respond to the immediate needs of clients
- Provide appropriate temporary accommodation that supports the timely and effective delivery of RAP services with a mínimal burden on clients
- Support clients with basic life skills and follow ups (i.e. wellness calls) with clients upon arrivals
- Assist with the purchase of household items, groceries and meals for clients
- Provide information and orientation to clients regarding life in Canada (i.e. financial, transportation, housing, etc.) and arrange and interpreters when needed
- Gather and create resources for program and clients
- Keep track of client service and enter services in data management system such as iCARE, or RODS internal database. Ensures timely creation and submission of program reports
- Develop a learning plan; participates in RAP-related training opportunities to stay current on issues affecting RODS clients
- Participates in regular team and organization-wide staff meetings
- Acts as a liaison with the community on newcomers behalf
- Engages partnerships to ensure client-focused service delivery
- Preforms surveys and data analysis as required for clients
- Maintains confidentiality on behalf of all GARs clients, RODS staff and volunteers

- Support and promote community-based development activities/initiatives to assist with the integration of RAP clients into the community.
- Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving techniques with solid para professional counseling and group facilitation skills.
- Knowledge of settlement related issues facing immigrants and refugee youth, children and families
- Broad knowledge of coordinating large scale group events and sessions and coordinate with external agencies to deliver sessions.
- Understanding of Canada and Saskatchewan Privacy Policies and education system
- Strong time-management and organizational skills are essential
- Good verbal, written and presentation skills in English. Bi-Lingual or Multi-Lingual.

The hours of work is flexible Monday - Friday totaling 33.75 hrs per week including after hours and weekends. All position at RODS requires a clean criminal record check. The annual salary scale for this position is $40,937.65
