**COMMUNITY WELLNESS MANAGER**

**Full Time (Permanent)**

**Monday to Friday - 7 hours/day**

**Wabasca, Alberta**

Bigstone Health Commission is seeking an experienced and competent Community Wellness Manager to join our talented Health Team. This is a rewarding opportunity if you have an appreciation for First Nations culture, a desire for continuing professional development and enjoy the support and collaboration from our multidisciplinary team and various other professionals and agencies.

**Summary of Duties and Responsibilities**
- Develop and implement a community-based Mental Health and Addictions Programs.
- Plan, promote, and implement support program delivery.
- In collaboration with the Director of Wellness, oversee daily operations of all Mental Health and Addictions programs.
- Deliver culturally appropriate programs and services.
- Provide supervision and direction to the staff.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to the staff.
- Establish prevention, intervention and after care programs.
- Address critical gaps in mental health and addictions services and programs.
- Work in collaboration with various departments and organizations.
- Evaluate programs and services annually.
- In collaboration with the Director of Wellness, work to oversee daily financial operations of Mental Health and Addictions programs.
- Create opportunities to initiate positive working relationships and to achieve new program goals.
- Maintain and demonstrate a healthy lifestyle.
- Must be willing to travel.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:

- Knowledge and experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Knowledge of Mental Health policies and procedures, relevant legislation i.e., Health professions Act, PHIPA, Alberta Mental Health Act.
- Good organizational skills and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated and ability to work in a team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to understand and speak Cree fluently is an asset.

**Education and Experience**:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s in human services-related fields, i.e., Psychology, Social Work, Health Management, from a recognized institution
- Combined education and relevant experience may be considered.
- Must have experience or knowledge working with Indigenous populations.
- Must have previous experience in management or supervision.
- Must have or obtain within 6 months of hire, First Aid/CPR certification, and maintain such.
- Must have or obtain within 6 months of hire, Mental Health First Aid certification, and maintain such.
- Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
