Reporting to the Business Development Manager, the Manager of Events is responsible for leading the planning and execution of a portfolio of strategic events while adhering to budget, scope and schedule requirements. The Event Manager will be responsible for executing high profile events and will elevate the Health Innovation Hub provincially, nationwide and to representatives and partners in other countries. The manager will often be the first point of contact in arrangements of these events. The manager will provide a professional and streamlined events for the portfolio both within Nova Scotia Health and through a variety of vendors. The manager will ensure the Business Development team is kept up to date on projects, issues and timelines as needed. This role will interface with inter-nal clinical departments to mobilize the launch of new services and demonstrate innovation thought leadership. Externally, the role will interface with the innovation ecosystem funders, private industry, academia, start-up companies, government departments, etc. This position will interact closely with Senior Leadership and the Director of Communications, RI&D during high profile announcements.

**About the Opportunity**:
**Ecosystem Brand Recognition**
- Identifies and cultivates opportunities to build the Health Innovation Hub brand through local, national and international events
- Creates, Leads, manages issues and oversees a comprehensive event marketing plan (including segmentation, targeting, and positioning) aligned to strategic objectives and business plans
- Works alongside business development stakeholders to identify and pursue opportunities to support new projects & initiatives
- Develops communication tools such as collateral, web, advertising, to support event execution
- Manages events budget and be accountable for measuring and reporting event results
- Manages all elements of an event from vendor engagement, contracts, site visit to day of management
- Utilizes and enhances customer relationship management process and technologies

**Business Development Engagement**
- Works with the business development team to support meetings and tradeshows that further the strategic goals of Health Innovation Hub, NSH
- Works with ecosystem partners to put together Atlantic Canadian delegations to major international conferences
- Leads events that support communication and marketing strategy that will help cultivate institutional, government and industry partnerships that lead to financial synergies and/or investment in research and innovation at NS Health
