**About Student Wellbeing**

The Student Wellbeing department encompasses a variety of wellbeing and accessibility supports at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) that reflect a university community that is fully committed and engaged in developing and sustaining supportive environments that foster wellbeing and academic success. This Student Wellbeing team works in a collaborative, student centred manner to enable student success by developing, implementing and overseeing an integrated portfolio of inclusive health, learning, accessibility and wellbeing supports, programs and services using an anti-racist, health equity approach based on the social determinants of health.

**The Opportunity**:
Under the co-direction of the Director, Community Wellbeing (Student Wellbeing) and Director, Workplace Wellbeing Services (Human Resources), the Campus Mental Health Specialist is responsible for the design, implementation, monitoring, reporting and delivery of campus-wide initiatives to understand and promote mental health. TMU aims to take a holistic, upstream approach to mental health for students, staff and faculty. This role will work across the campus community to understand and address mental health-related priorities at a community-level. Providing leadership and expertise, this role will facilitate mental health-related working groups and events, design and lead educational offerings to student, staff, and faculty, support Human Resources with mental health and wellbeing related initiatives for staff and faculty and participate in and support various campus committees by providing a mental health lens.

**Qualifications**

- Successful completion of a post-secondary degree in an academic discipline that is transferable to the role (i.e. Education, Social Work or Health). A Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of related experience in mental health related projects including project initiation, implementation, coordination and assessment of initiatives and policy development.
- Experience working in the post-secondary environment strongly desired
- Knowledge and experience with advisory governance, as well as the chairing and facilitation of meetings;
- Experience in identifying and developing partnerships to pursue new initiatives and secure funding or resources is highly desirable
- Experience in community development in a not-for-profit and/or post-secondary environment is an asset.
- Experience with integrating principles of equity, diversity and inclusion into program and initiative development, implementation and evaluation
- Knowledge of best practices in psychological health and safety in the workplace
- Ability to develop, monitor and evaluate wellbeing initiatives
- Knowledge of project planning and management, assessment and evidence-based decision making;
- Significant demonstrated expertise in mental health from a health equity and social determinants of health lens
- Familiarity and fluency with anti-oppressive practice
- Demonstrated excellence in cross-cultural and cross-sector interpersonal communication and collaboration.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and organizational planning abilities;
- Strong conflict resolution, facilitation, and negotiating skills with the ability to effectively manage group dynamics and teams of volunteers
- Strong stakeholder relationship building skills with the ability to work with multiple stakeholders on intersectional initiatives in a complex environment;
