Job brief
- Patient Care Coordinators support health care professionals by performing a variety of clerical and administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, word processing, filing, answering the phone, and correspondence.

Key Responsibilities (Not Inclusive to)
- Managing and updating patient records
- Greeting patients
- Making appointments
- Maintaining the front desk and reception areas
- Processing insurance and other claim inquiries
- Answer the phone, schedule and confirm medical appointments, greet patients, receive and communicate messages
- Transcribe, from handwritten notes, electronic dictation, or oral instructions
- Operate office equipment. This includes voice mail messaging systems, photocopiers, fax machines, and document scanners
- Keep examination areas clean, orderly, and stocked with supplies
- Ask patients questions to complete forms, documents, and case histories

Skill Set
- Medical terminology
- Insurance billing procedures
- Medical ethics and laws
- excellent oral and written communication skills
- good organizational and time management skill
- the ability to maintain accuracy while doing multiple tasks or working under pressure
- the ability to follow directions closely and accurately
- the ability to establish a professional relationship with patients and ensure that they have confidence in you
- the ability to deal effectively with the difficult behaviors that can sometimes be shown by people in distress
- the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- **Previous knowledge of Janeapp is an asset**

This position is part-time (approx. 10-20hrs/week) which includes evenings and Saturdays, so you *Must* be available for these.
