**The Role**

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Assisting with properly maintaining books by ensuring that all transactions are booked accurately and in a timely basis, all month end and quarter end reconciliations are done, and variances researched and resolved.
- Work with Sales teams to process and reconcile CAD and USD accounts payable and receivable through the following platforms:

- CAD Credit Cards,
- Cheques and bank drafts through,
- Transfers directly into accounts via Bank Wire or Direct Deposit.
- Reconciles deposits to the respective bank accounts.
- Maintains detailed daily deposit/payment records.
- Prepare, process, and reconcile full cycle payroll for hourly and salaried staff, ensuring compliance with company and federal and provincial regulations and guidelines.
- Manage accounts payable function by ensuring that all payments to suppliers are correctly made on time and discounts availed. All expenses are coded and recorded correctly. Prepare month end & year end accruals.
- Bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations.
- Assist with regular reporting as required.
- Provide support as required to department team members; requests from Management related to finance processes that channel through their departments. Such as, Sales and Operations.
- Ensure all Federal & Provisional tax payments and monthly HST returns are made on time.
- Through QuickBooks manage accounts payable, invoicing & timely supplier payments
- Working with the Operations department to ensure timely supplier payments for approved ports, logistics and invoices processed efficiently.
- Design, implement and maintain online and traditional filing systems.
- Maintain financial security by adhering to internal controls and signing authorities in on-line banking, cheques and wires.
- Assist with monthly lease reconciliation.
- Assist with collections of outstanding accounts when requested.
- Answer all phone calls to our main line providing optimal customer service and sales support
- Manage the maintenance and general organization of the office
- Manage all outgoing mail and courier services
- Contact vendors and maintain all office supports, maintaining cost compliance measures directly to the office manager
- Maintain office equipment, order supplies and provide vendor research to management
- Create office processes and procedures to ensure efficiency
- Maintain organized files
- Any other duties as assigned.

**Skills & Experience Required**
- 5+ years progressive accounting experience.
- Intermediate experience with QuickBooks.
- Well developed and clearly demonstrated customer service skills.
- Intermediate knowledge in Microsoft Office suite, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work with multiple departments.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Budget and planning experience.
- Strong communication skills.
- Specified accounting education.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks under tight time frames.
- Positive, collaborative, team player.
