**Research Institute Project & Development Manager** to join our team and contribute to our mission of advancing knowledge and driving impactful research projects.

**What You’ll Do**:
As the Research Institute Project & Development Manager, you will play a central role in overseeing the development, implementation, and management of research projects within our University and with external partners. You will facilitate seamless communication and collaboration among researchers, funding agencies, internal departments, and external stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include developing project structures, coordinating internal and external reporting, recommending fund allocations, and troubleshooting challenges to ensure successful project completion.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

- **Oversight of Project Development**: Manage the development, sequencing, and delivery of research projects at University and institutional-level research centers/institutes.
- **Facilitating Collaboration**: Foster communication and collaborative relationships across diverse stakeholders, including researchers, collaborators, funding agencies, and internal departments.
- **Innovating Operational Efficiency**: Prepare and maintain templates, working procedures, and documents to enhance operational efficiency. Identify and coordinate new processes, policies, and procedures to support major research projects.
- **Managing Resources**: Develop management, schedule, and funding plans, ensuring projects stay within scope, schedule, and budget. Monitor expenditures and identify compliance issues and solutions.
- **Providing Expert Guidance**: Offer direction and advice throughout the project lifespan, troubleshooting problems and removing barriers to successful project completion.

Position Requirements

**What You’ll Bring to the Position**:

- Bachelor or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, environmental studies, public administration, sciences, social sciences, etc.);
- 4-6 years’ related experience in research administration;
- Project management training and experience in facilitating and leading projects (PMP certification is an asset).
- Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

- Excellent communication skills with ability to address a very broad range of audiences both orally and in writing with all levels of faculty, staff, students and external community.
- Demonstrated experience in budget management and administration in an academic setting, including planning, prioritization and development of measurable milestones of progress in projects, programs and activities.
- Demonstrated experience preparing grants and contracts for sponsored research funding and knowledge of research grant and contract funding requirements.
- Knowledge of University research and governmental funding agency research policies, rules, regulations and best practices.
- Ability to understand, synthesize and prepare diverse research and outreach initiatives into meaningful marketing and communication documents.
- Skills in analysing opportunities, policies, issues and initiatives, and implementing new procedures.
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team setting.
- Ability to interact productively and professionally with a wider range of internal and external stakeholders
