Who we are looking for
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Wind Technician. Level 1 to join our team in the Great Sudbury Area. The Wind Technician, Level 1 will be responsible for performing maintenance and repair tasks on wind turbines to ensure optimal performance and reliability. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for renewable energy.
Day to Day responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks on wind turbines and associated equipment.
- Conduct inspections and diagnostics to identify and address mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Help support replacing components, including electrical, hydraulic and mechanical components, as needed to maintain turbine performance.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks according to manufacturer guidelines and industry best practices.
- Complete daily service reports and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members and external contractors to coordinate maintenance activities.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Scheduled On Call Support.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent. Technical degree or certification in wind energy or related field preferred.
- Minimum of [2] years of experience as a Wind Technician or similar role.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with hydraulic systems and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to work at heights and in adverse weather conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Must be able to climb 100m (300ft) multiple times per day.
- Must live within 45 minutes of site location.
