**Position Summary**:

The primary focus of this position will be to assist in managing our summer camps. This role requires collaboration and communication with Snapology management as well as representing the Snapology organization to parents & children with a high degree of professionalism.

Under the direction of management Camp Director is responsible for the delivery and administration for camps including supervision of campers, supervision of camp activities, supervision of camp staff, first aid treatment, liaising with the Camp management and responding to enquiries from participants, parents of participants and the general public. The Camp Director is the on-site leader of our camp and responsible for the planning, organization and implementation of daily camp programming including supporting our camp counsellors/ coaches.
- Work with the Camp Leadership team to create camp programming.
- Assist with the planning and execution of staff-training
- Ensure that all required equipment and supplies are purchased, stored, and organized at camp.
- Provide leadership to camp staff, including, training and coaching
- Maintain weekly staff and camp schedules.
- Communicate with counsellors and parents, weekly camp schedule, daily reminders (including any medical conditions, hydration, safety, etc.)
- Facilitate weekly staff meetings - set expectations for camp counsellors and encourage development.
- Maintain and track staff attendance for payroll purposes.
- Organize camper age groups before the start of camp, ensure programming matches with campers ages/ skill
- Create and facilitate daily camp programming with the help of camp counsellors.
- Ensure that all programs/ activities are carried out in a safe manner.
- Manage student behavior by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures;
- Provide first aid to campers and coaches as needed.
- Record keeping of all incidents, first aid at camp.
- Manage camper check-in and check-out and communication with parents throughout the day.
- Provide high level customer service through responding to camp questions, inquires and feedback in a professional manner
- Have fun with campers

**Experience & Skills**
- Post-secondary education (or currently enrolled) in related discipline (Recreation and Leisure, Early Childhood Education, Teaching, etc.) or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 3 years camp supervision experience
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Strong organization skills, ability to problem solve and adapt to busy and changing environments.
- Demonstrated knowledge in the planning and execution of day camp activities and working with children.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, along with the ability to provide exceptional customer service.
- Experience developing programs and activities for children/ youth.
- Ability to encourage, motivate and coach camp staff
- Able to have fun and participate in camp activities
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR ‘C’ certification valid until the last day of contract. Will be required to become certified if not already.
- Due to the nature of this position a Police Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory is required
- Access to reliable transportation

**Program Timing**:

- This position is seasonal full-time 35-40 hours a week for July and August. Availability required throughout the week._

**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 8 weeks

**Salary**: $19.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 40 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

- Bonus pay
