THIS IS A TEMPORARY REPLACEMENT POSITION FOR A BARGAINING UNIT EMPLOYEE. Terms and conditions of employment are as outlined in the Support Staff Collective Agreement.

Reporting to the Manager, International Student Engagement, the incumbent will support the logístical coordination of students during their international travel journey to Canada. The incumbent will work with both internal service areas and external providers to streamline the arrivals process and prepare students for a successful transition to college life and settlement into the community. In addition, the incumbent supports guard.me insurance coverage for all international students. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

- Supporting new and returning students as well as co-arriving family members during their international travel and transition journey to Canada (pre-arrival, arrival, and follow up post arrival)
- Acting as a main point of contact to answer inquiries and provide information, guidance, and support for all transition matters.
- Vetting students’ entry to Canada plans to ensure they meet mandatory requirements and providing support and guidance if modifications are required.
- Monitoring student transition progress through the iCent App (e.g. visa status, completion of required documents / forms, etc.) answering inquiries and providing guidance through the process if needed.
- Coordinating, or providing options of, purchased services for students upon arrival to Canada (e.g. iCent Airport Welcome Desk, transportation, etc.)
- Acting as a liaison between students and the insurance company to guide and support students with their insurance needs and inquiries and assisting with resolving disputes and complex student situations.
- Initiating insurance coverage for Georgian college staff, students and faculty travelling abroad on college business, and supports international health insurance needs of specialty groups (workforce development) and mobility projects, as requested.
- Collaborating with others to develop and deliver one-on-one and group information sessions/workshops on international insurance.
- Reconciling and processing student insurance invoices.
- Liaising with various internal partners to perform reconciliations (i.e. Financial, student accounts, student registration) to ensure accuracy of international student insurance coverage based on required timelines.
- Verifying data input by students through the service provider app (iCent) by cross checking with college systems (banner, OCAS-IAS, AppXtender) IRCC country visa processing times, DLI compliance requirements.
- Running reports to capture key information and trends related to student arrivals such as visa approval, secured housing accommodation, registration in classes and orientation etc., to help inform college planning.
- Supporting additional data tracking, analysis, and generation of reports from different college systems for the global engagement team as required.
- Ensuring arrival procedures and communication content, such as iCent app, are up-to-date and compliant with all regulations, policies and procedures.
- Keeping up to date with Government of Canada’s travel authority and Ontario/ Municipal and Public Health restrictions/ information to ensure all documentation and practices at Georgian are regularly updated to reflect any changes.
- Reviewing Georgian’s purchase packages each intake to assess if services need to be adjusted or expanded which includes taking the initiative to reach out to different partners, coordinate partner referral pricing, etc. and following through to resolution.
- Participating in orientation and Head Start events to discuss the arrival process with new students and prepare them for travel to Canada.
- Demonstrating the arrival app and providing information on the arrival process to In-Country Representatives and Agents to ensure proper information is communicated to new students.
- Supporting the international team on projects related to pre-arrival systems / processes.
- Leading the development, and promotion, of a mandatory arrival process for all incoming students.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Successfully completed a two-year postsecondary diploma in Business, Communication or another related field.
- A minimum of three years’ experience planning and coordinating services, and data gathering and analysis.
- Experience working with clients or service providers from multicultural backgrounds.
- Experience with project management and contract administration.
