**Job Summary**: Responsible for sourcing, negotiating pricing and creating purchase orders for supplies and products required in the manufacturing of products.

**Reports to**: Plant Manager

**Job Duties**
- Monitor and control inventory levels of supplies, fresh meat, packaging and production ingredients
- Negotiating prices of materials with new and current suppliers
- Contract with approved suppliers for raw materials and supplies
- Able to create and maintain positive relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Ability to accurately create, approve and manage purchase orders within time constraints
- Maintain purchasing records, reports and/or certification for material and services purchased
- Effective evaluation of RFQ’s, considering product performance, price and delivery
- Coordinates the purchasing of fresh meat with the production schedule
- Ability to review current processes and review changes for cost and efficiency
- Process, monitor and report on non-conforming product resulting from supplier deviation
- Identify opportunities for cost reductions through material substitutions and volume price leveraging while maintaining superior quality and cognizant of space constraints
- Perform general administrative functions within the purchasing department
- Coordinates and schedules third party inspections at all retail locations (as required)
- Ensure compliance with OMAFRA requirements with respect to vendors
- All other duties as assigned by Management

**Requirements**:

- Diploma or Degree in, Supply Chain Management or related field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within a Manufacturing Purchasing Role
- Experience in food and meat manufacturing is a strong asset
- Advanced understanding of contract negotiations, strong negotiation skills are required
- Purchasing Management Association of Canada/ Supply Chain Management Professional designation is an asset
- Experience working within an ERP (CSB specific knowledge in a strong asset)
- Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated success working in a team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication are required

**Essential Job Functions**
- Standing and sitting for extended periods of time
- Repetitive use of hands to use a computer
