**About the Job**
The Purchaser is directly responsible for coordinating the movement of purchased materials from suppliers and addressing any supply/supplier issues. This position includes coordinating production requirements aligned with projects, entry of data, report generation and analysis of the data. Other tasks include resolving issues pertaining to material defects, invoice discrepancies as well as delivery timelines.

- Job Position: Purchaser
- Location: 400 McNeilly Road, Stoney Creek, ON.
- Hourly Wage: $45,000 to $50,000 depending on experience

**Responsibilities**:
- Create purchase orders by verifying production demand to support the production floor, MRP
- Interaction with suppliers as required.
- Analyze order requests by auditing work order requirements and stock levels.
- Monitor and update our system vendor pricing and lead times.
- Investigate all overdue purchase orders and items.
- Make the necessary ERP updates to reflect the proper physical inventory available.
- Take an active role in physical year-end inventory.
- Coordinate the movement of purchased materials.
- Contact suppliers regarding errors in partial or duplicate shipments, prices, and substitutions.
- Maintain strict control over inventory levels for production in order to meet internal and external demand of product.
- Manage cycle count activities to ensure proper counts are conducted and the inventory is accurate.
- Responsible for procurement and purchasing activities on assigned projects.
- Prepare purchase orders or bid requests.
- Maintain computerized procurement records, such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
- Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Requirements**:
- Post Secondary Diploma in Purchasing or supply chain and minimum 3 years purchasing experience or equivalent.
- Familiar with ERP software (asset) and MS office suite (strong Excel skills).
- Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
- Proven organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
- Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
- Excellent teamwork and team building skills.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
