Reporting to the Senior Manager, Crew Optimization & Analytics, the Manager, Crew Data Insights will be a strategic and results-driven professional responsible for turning crew data into insights, processing a range of complex sets of data, and connecting that with actions to drive crew efficiencies that optimize operational performance. Leveraging advanced analytical tools and models, as well as statistical and financial modeling techniques, the incumbent will help transform and augment the crew planning and scheduling process effectiveness, and lead enterprise-wide solutions and opportunities for improvement. The role is pivotal, focused in supporting the delivery of engineering innovation, executing the delivery of key business initiatives, and ensuring adherence of technical standards of data engineering.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop high quality, intuitive analytic solutions to complex business problems to drive operational efficiency and assess the cost-benefit implications of proposed solutions.
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and systems to ensure seamless data flow and integration.
- Foster innovation of analytics projects of different varieties including strategy, advanced modeling, and data mining, providing full oversight of engagement structure, team management, and deliverables for team.
- Scale up from "laptop scale" to "cluster scale" problems, in terms of both infrastructures and problem structure and technique.
- Provide a branch view of analytical opportunities to help business lines make informed operational decisions for current and future business needs.
- Lead the definition and governance of key metrics, drive the vision and building of Crew Analytics.
- Ensure/promote the adoption of data management standards, policies and procedures in the business.
- Follows best practices for future reuse in the form of accessible, reusable patterns, templates and code bases.
- Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and tools to support data engineering initiatives.
- Develop and maintain data architecture, ensuring scalability and performance.
- Act as a process improvement leader in matters of data science and analytics; maintain awareness of best practices to improve crew efficiency and/or correct model deficiencies.
- Provide strategic, technical, and project leadership for the data explorations of new and existing data sources to maximize value creation and innovations.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation in data engineering practices.
- Demonstrate initiative, a strong commitment to achieving meaningful results, and act on opportunities to create value.
- Implement data quality and validation measures to ensure accuracy and consistency in data sets.
- Hire, manage, develop, mentor and support a highly skilled team of data and reporting analysts.

**Qualifications**
- 5+ years of experience in the field of data analytics or data science turning data into insights and providing insights across multiple working groups/departments.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in data engineering with a focus on cross-departmental collaboration.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and other relevant programming languages.
- Experience with ETL tools and data integration techniques.
- Familiarity with data warehousing, data modeling, and database design.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their data services.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to efficiently collaborate with diverse teams.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize data processes.
- Understanding of data security, privacy, and compliance considerations.
