**About the role**:
Reporting to the Director of Operations and working closely with Urban Solar’s team, the Operations and Technical Support Coordinator will be responsible for providing technical support to our customers and partners as well as supporting other operations functions.
This role is catered towards individuals wanting to grow their careers in an operations or technical support field. Extensive training on standalone solar lighting systems and other digital amenities (i.e. digital displays, web portals for remote monitoring/management of devices) will be provided.
**Responsibilities**:
- Lead our technical support efforts, serving as the primary point of contact for all support calls and inquiries to provide prompt and effective resolution to customer issues.
- Coordinate and work closely with our cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate responses to technical support requests.
- Assist our partners and contractors with installations and deployments, providing on-site support as needed.
- Document and maintain records of all support tickets, including resolutions and follow-up actions.
- Collaborate with the Operations team to process orders, manage procurement activities, coordinate distribution and logistics, and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Provide support in managing complex projects, including project planning, scheduling, and coordination of resources.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of support processes and documentation, collaborating with Customer Success and Sales teams to manage our customer relationships.
- Gain and continuously update an in-depth knowledge of our products, services and systems in order to communicate technical nuances to customers and team members in various functions.
- Assist with mentorship of co-op students and supporting general engineering process development under the guidance of the Director of Operations and engineering team.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree or professional studies in business, engineering or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Previous experience in technical support and customer service; project management, operations or logistics coordination experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and G Suite; experience with project management software such as Asana is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Flexible and adaptable with regard to changing project timelines, team priorities, and diverse levels of complexity.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing responsibilities.
- Positive, enthusiastic, and passionate team player.
**Location**:
This role will be based at Urban Solar’s head office in Victoria, BC. Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Hybrid remote work may be offered; however, applicants must be able to attend in-office meetings a minimum of three days per week.
