Medical Inventory & Equipment Coordinator

Position Status:
Temporary, Full-Time - 24 Month Contract

**Location**:
5310 Explorer Drive, Mississauga

Reporting To:
Manager, Paramedic Support

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Manager, Paramedic Support the Medical Inventory & Equipment Coordinator will play a critical role in supporting the Ornge base locations across the province manage, and have a thorough account of Medical consumable, Pharmaceutical and equipment inventory. This role is also responsible for the coordination of inventory control functions such as ordering, receiving and depletion of material with the ability to provide reports and recommendations regarding inventory quotas.

**Responsibilities**:

- Reviewing supply orders as well as the shipping of medical supplies and drugs to Ornge base locations to ensure accuracy;
- Tracking shipments to Ornge bases by entering them into the Materials Management (SAP) system ensuring accuracy (Ins/Outs for Warehouse and Base);
- The receiving of goods from vendors and completion of all necessary paperwork and/or entry into the Materials Management (SAP) system ensuring accuracy;
- Work closely with the Purchasing team to identify any receiving discrepancies related to Store’s inventory;
- Ensuring SAP MM is accurate at all times (right quantity, lot number, proper expiry date) through weekly, monthly and quarterly cycle counts;
- Monitoring when purchase orders with various vendors get below critical dollar amount;
- Advise management of low level stock, top-up status and other inventory/equipment related issues including communication of plans to key stakeholders on a weekly and monthly basis;
- Provide support for sourcing non-stock items and consultation and leadership on process improvements to achieve efficient inventory management;
- Maintain accurate records of all pandemic inventories and work with staff to identify any potential backorder/inventory issues;
- Daily assessment and investigation of stock and non-stock inventory as well as the communication of item substitutions;
- Monitor substituted product codes with current inventory;
- Prepare electronic requisitions for the removal from inventory and subsequent re-ordering as required;
- Data entry of all pertinent information into MS Excel daily in an accurate and effective manner, including all CCU equipment;
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, including transfers and cycle counts;
- Ensure Auto Replenishment is initiated;
- Warehouse location control and labeling management;
- Manage/remove expired product; and
- Segregate non-conformant product.

Qualifications:

- Secondary School Diploma;
- Additional courses in Inventory control, logistics or supply chain management is an asset;
- CPIM certificate is an asset;
- 1-2 years of recent experience in receiving/shipping functions, order fulfillment and inventory control in a health care environment;
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a computerized Logistics/Warehouse Inventory system;
- Knowledge of SAP preferred;
- Good organizational skills;
- Ability to push/pull/lift heavy loads (> 20kg);
- Ability to establish and effectively manage numerous priorities and meet deadlines;
- Proficient with MS Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point and Internet Explorer;
- Ability to multi-task work with flexibility in a fast-paced environment under mínimal supervision; and
- Excellent communication skills.
