**Hours of work: 35 Hours per week**

**Who we are**: Housing Services oversees the affordable housing system in Peel. We provide emergency, subsidized and affordable housing options and supports to residents who are homeless, unstably housed and unable to afford housing within the private market.
** **Within the Housing Services Division, the Client Services team provides clients with the shelter, funding and supports needed to become or remain stably housed, either directly or through partnerships with community agencies.

**Reports to**: Director, Housing Services

**Team Size**: The Manager oversees 1 Housing Specialist, 1 Coordinator and 4 Supervisors and indirectly oversees a team of unionized staff.

**What you will do in this role**:

- Leads a diverse team of employees who are responsible to assess housing need, support client system navigation, address needs based on client acuity and ensure appropriate subsidies and wrap around services are in place for successful tenancy.
- Manage and cultivate existing and new approaches to help clients get and / or maintain affordable housing
- Managing the goals and objectives as set by the Housing Services Director, and as outlined in the Peel Housing and Homelessness Plan (PHHP) for the department and division specifically as it relates to transforming housing and homelessness services
- Manage the direct delivery of housing services to clients to reduce chronic homelessness, obtain affordable housing and maintain successful tenancies
- Provides strategic and operational oversight in the delivery of client Services including client needs assessment, case management, funds administration, service navigation, wait list management, client placement, landlord and tenant mediation, and contract management.
- Manage the development and implementation of coordinated access across service providers
- Manages and administers eviction prevention to increase successful tenancies
- Develops and maintains relationships with appropriate stakeholders, human service support agencies, and Provincial Ministries of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Health, and Community and Social Services.
- Provides regular reporting to Regional Council, program / project sponsors, ELT members, steering committees and other regional committees or groups
- Develops and administers the operational budget for the section
- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias

**What the role requires**

**Educational Background/ Must Haves/Bonafide Job Requirements**:

- Post-secondary education in a Human Services or related field combined with 8 years’ experience in housing and / or human services field or an equivalent combination of education & experience
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team with at least five years of management /leadership experience
- Requires expert knowledge of the housing and homelessness services sector, Housing Services Act and the current social housing operating and accountability framework in Ontario
- Experience, understanding and respect for partnering community organizations and groups

**Skills/Abilities**:

- Strong leadership competencies including delegation, coaching, and performance management
- Effective skills in planning and prioritization, performance measurement, budget and financial management and issues management.
- Enhanced political acuity and awareness
- Proven communication and presentation skills including the ability to present to various audiences both internal and external to Peel
