**What do you offer?**

The Group Fitness Instructor is responsible for delivering specialty fitness instruction as a group exercise instructor. The Group Fitness Instructor is responsible for the direct delivery of group fitness classes on a regular basis, while maximizing the participation and involvement of YMCA members and participants.

**Some of the tasks of this position include**:

- Delivering group fitness classes on a regular basis.
- Maximizing participation and involvement of YMCA members and participants.
- Continuously working to expand knowledge and expertise in the ever-evolving health and fitness industry.
- Providing quality customer service to YMCA members and participants.

**What qualifications and abilities are we looking for?**

**Language**
- Fluent in English, oral and written required
- French is an asset

**Experience, Skills and Abilities**
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR “C” certification
- Current recognized Group Fitness Instructor certification (e.g., YMCA Can Fit Pro)
- 1-2 years of experience as a Group Fitness Instructor
- Knowledge of database/client management systems is an asset
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and build rapport with diverse clients

**Additional Requirements**:

- Applicants must already have a valid permit to work in Canada.
- Semi-annually, staff must complete the mandatory training for the protection of Children & Youth and submit the certificate of completion.
