Your Role

As part of an R&D organization, you will be responsible for the configuration and management of network elements, both real and simulated, that will be used by product verification and design teams.

Your Responsibilities
- Prime technical design, implementation, and support of L0/L1/L2/L3 Multi-platform lab
- Design, suggest and implement lab solutions to fully address Product Verification Test Plan, use cases and scenarios as well as Resource Adapter (RA) development team
- Maintain lab infrastructure at the required software levels
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issue, coordinate repairs of defective lab equipment
- Support configuration/testing activities on Ciena and 3rd Party equipment
- Manage sharing agreements with the various external lab support teams
- Maintain and track inventory
- Foresee lab requirement for upcoming solution development and verification, provide suggestion, track acquisition, and integrate new equipment.

About You:
Minimum Qualifications
- Cisco Certified Network Associate - CCNA
- Ciena Carrier Ethernet Certified Associate - CE-A
- Ciena Carrier Ethernet Certified Professional - CE-P

Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise on Carrier Ethernet Services, specifically Ciena CES switching and routing devices (SAOS 6.x, 7.x, 8.x,10.x) and interoperability with other Ciena and 3rd Party devices.
- Expertise on L0/L1/L2/L3 protocol and Carrier Ethernet Features
- Hands-on experience with the installation and operation of network and systems management tools (MDSO, MCP, One Control, Planet Operate, Site Manager for 6500, Node Manager for 5430)
- Expertise in troubleshooting and testing tools data traffic generators and protocol analysers (Spirent, SmartBits, Ixia, JDSU, Xena, Wireshark)
- Expertise with customer premises and central office network equipment.
- Expertise in L0/L1/L2/L3 including:

- 802.x MEF Protocols
- DHCP, DNS, LLDP, NTP
- MPLS, OSPF, IS-IS
- Carrier Ethernet Services: E-LINE/E-LAN/E-TREE
- OTN, SONET, SDH, OSRP
- Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM)
- Fiber Channel (FC), Storage Extension (SAN)
