**Beechwood North Homes Association (BNHA) is looking for a Pool Manager to join the dynamic team at our community pool.**

Established in 1976, BNHA has helped to create lifelong memories for generations of families in the Beechwood North community.

We are looking for an individual with 2+ years of previous pool lifeguarding experience who will be responsible for supervision of the lifeguarding staff, managing pool operations such as swimming lesson programs while also providing quality lifeguarding services and positive customer service at our community facility.

**Pool Manager Responsibilities**:

- Leadership and coaching for lifeguard staff including training, supervision, and developing / maintaining staff procedures
- Manage pool operations such as swimming lesson scheduling, establishing and maintaining water analysis/testing records, organizing pool cleaning and daily procedures for general facility maintenance and upkeep
- Work with Executive team to develop and coordinate lifeguard schedules; maintain staff timesheets
- Act as a key representative of the association with community members, providing exceptional customer service and building relationships with members and their families
- Monitor and maintain chlorine levels, conducting testing of water pH levels and recording results in daily records; coordinate pool vacuuming and filter cleaning to maintain pool cleanliness
- Maintain upkeep of emergency equipment and first aid supplies
- Program planning for half-day summer camp and other special events/activities for members and the community (Theme Nights, crafts, etc.)
- Incident reporting and communication to BNHA Executive team

**Lifeguarding Responsibilities**:

- Respond to emergency situations and perform rescue techniques and first aid until the arrival of emergency medical services
- Maintain constant supervision of members and guests in the pool and on the pool deck
- Ensure patrons adhere to pool rules and safety guidelines
- Accountable for maintaining and upgrading certifications
- Cleaning of facility bathrooms, pool deck area, tennis courts, and guard office
- General property maintenance including watering plants, power washing, grass cutting, and other duties
- Other duties as required

**Qualifications**:

- Previous lifeguarding experience required (2 years preferred)
- Current National Lifeguard certification required
- Swim Instructors certification required
- Standard First Aid and CPR are required and must be maintained throughout employment
- Previous experience working with kids and young adults
- Knowledge and experience in pool management operations
- Previous experience with the following is an asset: Swim team/meet experience, Aquafit, Water Polo
- Understanding of pool operations and water chemistry
- Able to provide a successful vulnerable sectors check

**Work Hours**:
This position is seasonal from May to early September and requires full-time hours (35+ hours per week). Shifts can include daytime, evenings, weekends and holidays.

**Job Type**: Seasonal
Contract length: 4 months

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Waterloo, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Licence/Certification:

- National Lifeguard certificate (required)
- Swim Instructors certification (required)
