**Position Purpose**:
The Supervisor, Materials Procurement provides supervision and support for the procurement of inventory materials needs for Alectra’s construction requirements. Working with both internal and external stakeholders, the role is to ensure the timely supply and fulfilment of materials to meet required schedules, key overall stocking strategies and department initiatives.

**Responsibilities**:

- Oversees the day-to-day process for Alectra’s materials procurement function
- Participates in internal and external meetings relating to material requirements to identify in advance any potential challenges in fulfilment activities
- Monitor’s supplier’s material fulfilment trends to ensure adequate time to meet required schedules and KPI requirements
- Works closely with Inventory Planning, Internal Business stakeholders and Suppliers to ensure a high material fulfilment level and to resolve issues
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers
- Collaborates with Inventory Planning to implement forecasting programs with suppliers, where required
- Provides analysis and reporting relating to the material fulfilment activities, cost changes and pricing indices
- Plans, organizes, and supervises daily activities of the direct reports in support of department’s overall initiatives
- Provides coaching, staff development, performance management, technical and operational guidance, and advice to staff
- Provides input into department goals and objectives
- Leads and/or participates in department projects and key initiatives to ensure quality and timely completion
- Identifies, recommends, and implements new or enhanced policies, procedures, and processes to improve operational effectiveness
- Ensures compliance to legislative, regulatory, and Health & Safety policies, procedures and standards
- Perform other duties as assigned

**Education & Specialized Knowledge**:

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent
- CSCMP designation or advanced enrolment
- Strong knowledge of procurement concepts and financial analysis
- Advanced knowledge of inventory management

**Experience**:

- Minimum 5 years related experience in a leadership role
- Experience in a Procurement/Supply Chain Management role an asset
- Experience in a unionized utility environment an asset

**Skills/Abilities/Competencies**:

- Effective leadership, change management, supervisory, delegation ability, attention to detail and organization skills
- Ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong written and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical information in an organized and concise way
- Ability to plan, prioritize and execute multiple projects and initiatives within established timelines
- Must hold and maintain a valid class “G” driver’s license
