SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for sourcing, negotiation, contract management and supplier relationship management; Coordinate the activities of buyers both inside and outside sales related employees involved in purchasing materials, products, and services; Establish and implement department and team’s objectives and priorities to align with and support the business goals, promoting collaboration and coordination of procurement activities with key stakeholders; Oversee and supervise employees, directing day-to-day activities, as well as looking after recruitment, training and development, to ensure a high standard of service delivery; Lead the development and implementation of sourcing strategies to achieve forecasted MRO budget; Conduct assessment of current state and future requirements, analyze market trends and potential suppliers, and identify processes for continuous improvement; Develop long range supply chain and pricing strategies; Lead cost reduction initiatives and ensure that effective control measures are in place to address purchase prices variances; Generate direct savings by developing and sourcing strategies which will enable cost reduction while ensuring that user needs are met; Provide input and recommendations for the development and implementation of processes and procedures aimed at supporting the departmental vision for Procurement and strategic Supply Chain; Responsible to develop and manage the requests for proposals (RFPs); Negotiate and establish vendor volume rebate agreements; Ensure that all Customs matters are handled quickly and efficiently; Act as first line of escalation for buyer issues related to internal support, parts procurement and supplier performance.QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Certificate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain/ purchasing, operations management, business administration, or any other related field is preferred; Minimum of seven (8) years of experience in purchasing, procurement and strategic sourcing, including the development of business strategies or equivalent; Experience in MRO purchasing is considered an asset; Previous experience in aerospace, airline operations, corporate aviation industry, including detailed knowledge of modern aircraft; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and understand business practices, elicit and define requirements, and identify appropriate solutions and options; Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with various audiences;Excellent negotiation skills; Sound operational and tactical decision making skills; Proven ability to effectively plan, prioritize, document and implement sequential completion of tasks and processes to minimize revenue loss; Demonstrated ability to build internal customers/external suppliers relationships to optimize operational performance and process improvement; Superior customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization; Strong leadership and influencing skills; Strong mentoring and coaching skills being able to train and develop subordinate's skills; Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities simultaneously; Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, Word, Excel, Inventory and ERP systems.Benefits:
