Global Pet Foods is a well-established Canadian franchise chain specializing in high-quality pet supplies. Our Woodbridge location is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Supervisor to join our team and contribute to the success of our retail pet supplies store.

**Position Overview**:
As an Assistant Supervisor at Global Pet Foods in Woodbridge, you will play a vital role in the store's day-to-day operations, ensuring a positive shopping experience for our valued customers. This position involves taking on the responsibilities of a Sales Associate while also managing inventory, staff, and enhancing customer satisfaction. The Assistant Supervisor position reports to the Store Supervisor and Owner.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**1. Inventory Control**:

- Manage inventory orders, including receiving and documenting shipments.
- Report and address damaged or expired products promptly.
- Maintain organized and accurate inventory records.

**2. Staff Management**:

- Train and onboard new staff members to uphold our service standards.
- Monitor staff attendance and performance, providing constructive feedback.
- Assign daily duties and responsibilities to ensure smooth store operations.

**3. Customer Experience Management**:

- Oversee special order requests, ensuring efficient processing.
- Handle escalated customer complaints with professionalism and care.
- Strive to enhance the overall shopping experience for customers.

**Other Responsibilities**:
**Sales Associate Support**:

- Assist in delivering exceptional customer service and sharing product knowledge.
- Contribute to promoting products, special offers, and loyalty programs.
- Aid in achieving sales goals and performing tasks like price checks and updates.
- Accurately operate the Point of Sale (POS) system during transactions.
- Participate in maintaining the store's cleanliness and visual appeal.

**Inventory Handling**:

- Accept deliveries and ensure accurate placement of items.
- Periodically restock the sales floor to maintain a well-stocked appearance.
- Implement product rotation strategies for optimal freshness of products.

**Qualifications and Requirements**:

- Open Availability: Demonstrates flexibility by being available for day, evening, and weekend shifts, ensuring consistent store coverage and exceptional customer service.
- Prior Pet Industry Experience: Brings previous experience within the pet industry, allowing for an understanding of customer needs and preferences in this specialized sector.
- Managerial Experience: Exhibits prior managerial experience, showcasing the ability to lead and guide a team effectively while fostering a positive work environment.
- Customer-Centric Approach: Displays exceptional customer service skills, showing dedication to meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
- Effective Communication: Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills, enabling clear and concise interactions with customers, staff, and management.
- Organizational Skills: Demonstrates excellent organizational skills in inventory management, staff scheduling, and task prioritization.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Exhibits the capability to identify issues, provide solutions, and make informed decisions swiftly to maintain store operations.
- Attention to Detail: Displays keen attention to detail in tasks such as inventory control, product placement, and customer service, ensuring a polished store environment.
- Team Collaboration: Works collaboratively with the store team, fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere while promoting teamwork.
- Leadership Qualities: Possesses strong leadership qualities, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff to achieve goals and maintain high standards.
- Physical Stamina: Is capable of standing, moving, and lifting items weighing up to 40 lbs, contributing to the physical demands of store operations.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $19.00-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 40 per week
