**Work environment**:
The TSB is a small organization with approximately 240 employees and 5 Board Members, including the Chair. The organization operates in a decentralized manner through 10 locations across Canada. Employees work in a collegial and collaborative environment.

The location of the position we are looking to staff is in Richmond, BC.
Anticipatory: 1 position in Gatineau.

A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience
AND
EITHER
Valid Canadian certificate of competency with STCW endorsement in one of the following disciplines:
- Chief Mate unlimited or Master, Near Coastal Voyage or higher;
- Second-class Engineer or higher
OR
Fishing Master, Second Class or higher issued by Transport Canada;
OR
University degree or diploma in a field relevant to the position, combined with at least 10 years of experience in the Maritime Industry.
Degree equivalency
Recent and significant experience* in leading a team in the delivery of projects, programs or operational** activities in a field related to marine transportation.
Experience in providing analysis, advice, and recommendations to management related to marine transportation.
Experience writing technical or accident investigation reports related to marine transportation.
- Recent and Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of the experience associated with having performed a broad range of complex activities related to this task, which are normally acquired over a period of at least 2 years within the last 5 years.
**Operational activities are defined as those performed during vessel cargo management, and/or vessel operations, and/or vessel maintenance, and/or the design and construction of vessels, in the marine field.

Knowledge of accident investigation methodologies and techniques, safety management and risk analysis techniques.
