**Job Summary**

This position manages two areas by developing and implementing programs and services to:

- support the financial operations of CNO, and
- support effective operations of CNO’s building and office service operations

**Key Accountabilities**

**1.** **Finance Team**
- Oversees operations by identifying, and integrating best and current practices for financial analysis and reporting, general accounting and internal controls, procurement of goods and services, and contract management services
- Supports the interim and year-end audit of the consolidated financial statements of CNO by working collaboratively with team staff and external auditors regarding preparation of supporting documents, responding to audit queries, and preparing account reconciliations and variance analysis, as required.
- Identifies, recommends and implements changes to reporting systems, tools and processes to improve meaningfulness and usability of financial reports, and to enhance the internal controls of financial processes.
- Supports the Director, Business Services to ensure that appropriate resources are made available to the Finance Committee, including delivery of support and orientation. Maintains a thorough knowledge of CNO’s regulatory obligations and ensures that programs meet all regulatory, legal and policy requirements, in keeping with best and current practices.

**2.** **Facilities Team**
- Oversees operations by identifying and, integrating best and current practices to ensure a safe, secure and comfortable work environment and the provision of timely, cost-effective office services. Plans and executes building capital, preventative and restorative projects supporting optimal space planning and utilization, sound mechanical infrastructure and protection of CNO’s facilities assets.

3. **Management Responsibilities**
- Hires, trains, develops and evaluates employees accountable to the Manager in accordance with the policies of CNO and current best practices, building team capabilities and capacity.
- Monitors the team budget, adjusting plans and programs as necessary, including third party vendors and service provider expenditures. Prepares business case and budget for projects, working closely with the Director, Business Services to allocate and monitor resource allocations. Keeps the Director, Business Services well informed of budget shortfalls / project overages on a timely basis.
- Works closely with CNO leaders and budget holders, providing advice and consultation in the development of operating budgets and forecasts, and the implementation of appropriate systems for monitoring expenditures and revenues.
- Identifies and evaluates risks and recommends appropriate responses to mitigate risk(s) to the protection and security of CNO assets and integrity of financial systems and information; and health and safety of employees, registrants and visitors. Monitors key risks and implements interventions as appropriate.

**Qualifications**

**Education and Experience**
- Completion of an undergraduate degree in a related discipline e.g., Business, Accounting and Finance
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in good standing
- 7 years professional experience in financial management with experience in facilities management operations:

- Experience in internal controls, procurement and contract management, and financial audits with progressive responsibility for team contribution to organizational success; experience using financial and related systems
- Experience in space planning, building maintenance, property management and security
- Demonstrated leadership and management experience in similar or related role
- Proven experience building a team and leading change initiatives; demonstrated ability to manage human and financial resources
- Demonstrated use of innovation in business processes to support business and customer needs with proven experience in providing strategic and measurable contribution to business results

**Knowledge and Skills**
- Strong knowledge of financial and management accounting principles
- Knowledge of building maintenance and services and relevant legislation
- Demonstrated ability to use MS Office suite, including advanced proficiency in MS Excel
- Proven ability to multi-task and manage activities with varying priorities; ability to conform and adjust to shifting priorities and demands
- Demonstrated use of innovation in business processes to support business and customer needs with proven experience in providing strategic and measurable contribution to business results
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

**Hiring Range: $139,993 - $145,781**

**Full Salary Range: $139,993 - $167,991**
