**What you will do**
- As the Community Liaison Specialist for the Canada Connect program, you will play a pivotal role in fostering meaningful connections between newcomers and the broader community. Your responsibilities will involve building strong relationships, facilitating access to essential resources, and ensuring the smooth integration of newcomers into the social fabric of Waterloo Region and Stratford/ Perth County, ON. Through your dedication and expertise, you will empower newcomers to navigate their settlement journey with confidence while contributing to the vibrant multicultural landscape of our community.Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the program in Waterloo Region, ensuring its effectiveness and alignment with our goals.
- Lead the establishment and development of the program in Stratford (Perth County
- St Mary’s/Listowel), implementing innovative outreach strategies and building community engagement.
- Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to create meaningful matches at all locations, fostering a supportive environment for New Canadians.
- Design and organize monthly events in Kitchener, Cambridge, and Stratford to promote social integration and cultural exchange.
- Conduct needs assessments, maintain accurate records, and prepare detailed monthly reports to demonstrate program impact.
- Provide orientation, information sessions, and appropriate referrals to clients, enhancing their understanding of community resources.

As a Community Liaison Specialist, you'll work closely with our team to support newcomers' settlement and integration into Canada. Your focus will be on facilitating their social integration, matching them with program volunteers, and providing orientation about YMCA programs. You'll also ensure they receive referrals to other community resources for holistic support. Collaborating with volunteers, you'll run programs aimed at enhancing newcomers' language skills, community knowledge, and social networks to foster a sense of belongingness.
