Reporting to the Manager, Marketing and Communications, the incumbent is responsible for increasing the visibility of EDGE, executing communications strategies developed by the Manager, and enhancing EDGE’s brand internally and externally. This includes writing communications, key messages, content for the website, blogs, social media channels, newsletters, and news releases, among other platforms. The incumbent will also create content for EDGE announcements to be posted on various platforms at Sheridan College. Additionally, the coordinator regularly writes articles, blogs, and stories that capture the entrepreneurial journey of EDGE members, including those in the community, coworking space, and students. The goal is to improve the organization's public image and facilitate effective internal and external communication.

**What You’ll Be Doing**
- Implementing communication plans aligned with EDGE’s goals and translate overarching communication objectives into actionable plans and initiatives;
- Generating journalistic-quality feature/news writing, visual, and multimedia content for various platforms; ensuring consistency with the EDGE's messaging and brand voice;
- Editing and proofreading all communication materials to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to style guidelines while maintaining a keen eye for detail, grammar, and overall written and visual content quality;
- Crafting compelling narratives that effectively communicate key messages and enhancing the EDGE’s storytelling efforts;
- Managing documentation related to communication plans, strategies, and activities;
- Generating regular reports and provide insights for optimization;
- Providing communication materials such as existing signage, popup banners, takeaways, etc.;
- Preparing presentation for opening/closing and promos; Writing event recaps/blogs;
- Helping onboard student staff (i.e. demonstrating various software etc.);
- Assigning tasks to student staff and review completed work (e.g. writing social media posts);
- Performing other related duties as required.

You have sound understanding of **project management** principles and tools and have the ability to multi-task, prioritize, balance and manage multiple complex and competing demands.
- 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or Digital Marketing, along with a minimum of 3 years of experience writing features and new stories for print and web (or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience);
- A self-starting storyteller with journalistic-quality interviewing and writing skills;
- Ability to multi-task and complete projects under tight timelines with little supervision;
- Superior oral and written communication skills.
- Any written pieces of your choice to showcase writing skills.
- Pieces of writing can include; report, news item, feature, blog, interview, article etc.
