The Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE) team enables Sun Life's pivot toward cloud computing by building cloud capabilities, enablement functions, and partnerships across Enterprise Services. As part of the CCoE, the Cloud Operations team's mandate is to operationalize and support our cloud consumers on all cloud services, as well as their underpinning governance and management processes.

Cloud Operations - is hiring a Cloud Technical Analyst **with focus on security & audit.**

The Cloud Technical Analyst role is to install, administer and optimize cloud based solutions and related cloud components (IaaS and PaaS). This includes ensuring the availability of cloud services, configuring new implementations using automation solutions, and implementing processes and procedures for ongoing management of the cloud environment.

The primary focus of this role would be but not limited to
- Annual InfoSec Policy, Enterprise Operating Guideline (EOG) and Directives Review (incl. Cloud Security & Operating Directive)
- Assist with SOX, SOC2 Audits
- Global Reporting / Dashboarding / Health Checks
- Assist with Cloud Usage - Financial optimization for efficiency
- Governance - engage with various different IT cloud consumers to ensure cloud access is adhere to enterprise Access standards
- Perform AWS IAM Secrets Rotation & Sonrai remediation
- Review AWS compliance dashboard for next steps & actions

As with many IT services, there is an expectation of availability off hours for client impacting changes or troubleshooting activities; Sun Life is a global operation and therefore requires 24x7 support.

The individual will participate in our new way of working in Agile fashion with cross functional squads to support delivering desired outcomes set forward for the Quarterly Incremental Planning.

**What you will do**

**Operational health of all services managed by Cloud Operations** - **65%**
- Operational support & incident resolution activities
- Respond to escalated incidents / events notifications in regard to deployed cloud services as required.
- Participate in key process improvements as they relate to the cloud environment.
- Perform cloud system configuration and management, implement maintenance fixes, and vendor-supplied patches.
- Recommend and execute modifications to cloud environment in order to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance.
- Reporting includes but not limited to Performance/Capacity/Governance, & Monitoring of Cloud Services
- Participate in the operation of key controls & internal / external **cloud audits of AWS environment**:

- Perform annual Information Security Risk Policy, Enterprise Operating Guideline and supporting Directives reviews with Cloud Risk & Governance team.
- Ensure consumer of clouds services is in adherence / compliance with established cloud processes by Cloud Operations
- Develop and maintain cloud environment documentations
- Respond to Help Desk service requests and incidents for deployed cloud resources.
- Support the development of Service Improvement Plans to avoid repeat problems and proactively address operational problems and service degradations before they occur.
- Share the responsibility of 7X24 rotational on-call duties, incident support and disaster recovery support. Assist in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure adherence to cloud security & directives

**Delivery of Cloud solutions - 30%**
- Understand and work with Amazon Web Services (AWS) Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), and Platform as a Service (PaaS)
- Build cloud based services and solutions based on defined patterns.
- Prioritize and respond to service requests as appropriate.
- Ensure that solutions we deliver are compliant with all operational and security standards, directives and policies.
- Implement and operationalize new cloud services.
- Develop scripts and functions to support internal processes and improve system performance.
- Define, document and implement consistent standards and procedures.

**Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery** -**5%**
- Support the development of disaster recovery test plans for cloud services as required and participate in exercises.
