**About the Position**:
Reporting into the General Manager, the Memory Care Supervisor enriches the lives of our memory care residents everyday by developing and coordinating meaningful programs and services, in conjunction with the Lifestyles Manager, to meet their social, physical, intellectual, emotional, vocational and spiritual needs. They will also play a large role in managing the Metta Memory program by providing a unique person-centred approach to memory care placing emphasis on relationships, supporting the interactions with residents and their families and establishing strong social connection to develop trust and familiarity.

**Responsibilities**:

- Works closely with Lifestyles Manager, General Manager, and other department managers to execute Metta Memory program.
- Develops, implements, maintains and execute programs for memory care in conjunction with the Lifestyles Manager.
- Interacts with Metta Memory residents daily by focusing on building relationships with residents and families.
- Responds to resident or family member concerns in a timely manner and ensures appropriate action is taken.
- Assists in providing residents with a sense of routine and structure while supporting the requirements for flexibility and spontaneity.
- Ensures a high level of resident engagement.
- Reviews resident’s life history and Care Plan on a regular basis and partners with the residents to assist them (where necessary) with activities of daily living.
- Identify opportunities for social interaction by engaging residents in conversation.
- Participates in all in-service training and education programs.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Education & Qualifications**:

- Successful completion of secondary school or equivalent.
- Previous experience working with individuals with Dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.
- Post-secondary education in related care fields of Personal Support Worker, Health Care Aide, or DSW is an asset.
- Completion of specialized behavioral education certification program an asset (GPA, P.I.E.C.E.S, Montessori Methods).
- A warm personality with demonstrated empathy and understanding of the needs of individuals with Alzheimer’s disease.
- Effective interpersonal relationship and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to respond to emergency situations.
- Initiative and judgment in recognizing symptoms indicative of a person’s change in routine behaviour.
