Plains has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Planner & Scheduler in Sarnia, Ontario. Working out of our Sarnia NGL facility, you will report to the Team Lead, Maintenance Planning & Scheduling, and be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective relief planning and scheduling of short-term and long-term maintenance activities in Plains’ Great Lakes District. Using sound planning and scheduling practices, Plains standards, and safety-focused strategies you will develop schedules and work plans with input from stakeholders including Asset Integrity, Instrumentation / Electrical, Mechanical, Engineering, and Operations. Periodic travel to Windsor and St. Clair, Michigan, may be required.

Permanent residency within 120 km of Plains’ Sarnia facility is a condition of employment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Adopt and align to PMC procedures, best practices, and workflows.
- Utilize the work execution management process (WEMP), maintaining a clear overview of the volume of prepared corrective maintenance backlog and prioritizing when to bring the work into the schedule for execution.
- Provide relief support for the planning group by collaborating with Operations, and discipline leads to prepare planned work for scheduling.
- Display functional competencies regarding safety leadership, equipment safety, and maintenance execution.
- Work constructively within a high demand environment.
- Participate in departmental goal development / realignments and achievement strategies.
- Develop and maintain the 6-week look-ahead maintenance schedule for the facility and the 52-week maintenance schedule forecast.
- Lead meetings to review, qualify, and prioritize emerging work with key stakeholders.
- Attend scheduled planning & scheduling meetings.
- Maintain ISNetworld contractor list and collaborate with Procurement to schedule contractors accordingly.
- Be an active steward of the environment and HSE by supporting the Plains Operations Management System.
- Work collaboratively with Asset Integrity group on scope alignments and long-term forecasting.
- Assist in developing accurate budgetary cost summaries for forecasted estimates.
- Actively manage planner backlog to achieve timely completion of work packs to within target start dates.
- Champion key departmental KPIs.
- Assist with preventive maintenance (PM) optimization and job plan development and participate in the continuous improvement loop.
- Coach new users or groups on proper Maximo usage and navigation.
- Follow proper procurement practices.
- Cultivate and foster productive and professional relationships with vendors and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

- High School diploma or GED required
- Technical diploma or Certified Interprovincial Instrumentation Technician and / or Journeyman Industrial Electrician preferred
- 5+ years’ quality knowledge and hands-on experience with mechanical maintenance execution on pumps, compressors, aerial coolers, and pressure equipment in a facility setting preferred
- 3+ years in a maintenance planning role preferred
- Plant operational experience considered an asset
- Strong working knowledge of Maximo and Prometheus or relevant CMMS and scheduling software with a background in reliability centered maintenance (RCM)
- Demonstrated computer knowledge with experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Shutdown / turnaround experience considered an asset
- Goal-oriented self-starter who works well in high-pressure situations due to competing priorities
- Able to lead by example and positively influence a variety of individuals in a busy field environment
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with other disciplines, assuring regular and open communication
- Permanent residence within a 120 km radius of Plains’ Sarnia facility
- Cleared criminal history (background) check and satisfactory reference checks
- Compliance with the company’s Drug & Alcohol Policy including pre-employment testing
- A valid Driver’s Lice
